Just a Chip?

For those of my friends here that don't know, I play bass for the Inside Out band. We bought a van around a year ago and we just paid it off recently. Now as we know things go wrong with anything that just gets paid off, well, this is no different.

The other night coming home from a show something jumped up and chipped the glass on our windshield. We collectively thought ok, just a chip, but being that it is winter and the windshield gets cold, so the defrost goes on and then what happens? That's right, the small chip grows into a big crack that makes it's way across the windshield.
