Country singer John Rich charged with assault

Country star John Rich is charged with assault and harassment in an ongoing dispute with a former "Nashville Star" contestant.

Rich says in a statement Thursday that he turned himself in to Nashville police to face the charges filed by Jared Ashley, a contestant during the fourth season of the TV show on the USA network.

The 35-year-old was charged with two misdemeanor counts of assault and one misdemeanor count of harassment. He was released on $3,000 bond.

In April, Rich sued Ashley, saying the aspiring singer defamed him by claiming Rich hit him in the face. Rich says the charges are false and he rejected a settlement offer to pay $2.9 million to have them dropped.

Rich is part of the duo Big & Rich. His latest solo hit is "Shuttin' Detroit Down."

This is what is wrong with the country, two misdemeanor counts of assault (allegedly) and the guy is suing for $2.9 million? It's ridiculous! Seems everyone is looking for an easy buck these days, even when they didn't earn it like by frivilous law suit.

Phil Spector sentenced to 19 years to life

Phil Spector was sentenced Friday to 19 years to life in prison for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson, who was shot through the mouth in the music producer’s home six years ago.

Spector, 69, looked straight forward and showed no emotion as Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler ordered a term of 15 years to life for second-degree murder plus four years for personal use of a gun.

Hulk Fires Back!

Hulk Hogan is firing back at Linda Hogan's latest round of allegations. Last week, Linda's public relations representative issued a statement to PerezHilton.com trashing Brooke, her boyfriend Stacks and of course, the Hulkster.

Among Linda's claims are that Hulk and Brooke's boyfriend smoke pot together.

However, even Linda's drug accusations come after Brooke strongly hinted to Perez Hilton in a recent video chat that her mother is "on something."

Hulk's lawyer fired back a statement defending his client, saying: "Brooke Hogan has spoken out in support of her father only because of her mother's repeated fabricated attacks on him.

"She is in the unique position of knowing both parties in this litigation and she has only spoken as to what she knows to be the truth based upon her personal experience with each.

"Linda has refused repeated invitations by Brooke to reconcile and given these recent comments it appears a mother/daughter relationship is impossible at this time. It is sad that Linda Hogan continues to attempt to throw her family under the bus to gain publicity."

Hulk also offered to take a legally supervised drug test to prove he's clean, and challenged Linda to do the same, since he believes she's the one doing drugs with her young boyfriend Charlie.

WWE Wants Raw To Be Variety Show

Vince McMahon is strongly pushing the individual branding of each of WWE’s TV shows and PPVs. Word is that 80% of Raw comes directly from McMahon, and he wants to keep Raw as more of a variety show, whilst Smackdown becomes the traditional “wrestling show”, Superstars sticks to matches and ECW is used to develop new talent as usual.

I think McMahon is off his rocker, but then, that's only my opinion!

Tonight's the Night

Jay Leno ends his 17 year run as "the Tonight Show" host on NBC, or will he? Seems Jay will be having a new gig hosting a talk show on NBC at 10pm.

Now how much sense does this make? An NBC affiliate in Boston won't be picking up the new Leno show because they do not think he will be able to pick up an audience for the new show and to be honest ,I agree.

Also Conan O'Brian will be taking Leno's spot on the Tonight Show. But, I ask myself can we really even call it the Tonight Show now? There's no prestige to holding that job now, Leno's new show deligitimizes (is that a word?) the Tonight Show I believe.

But then, that's only my opinion!

Former WCW Star Says He's TNA Bound

Former WCW wrestler Marcus "Buff" Bagwell, 39, has been telling friends he's headed to TNA. Bagwell last appeared in TNA in 2006. WrestlingINC.com had a story up several days ago where they noted that Bagwell's name had been talked about in recent TNA creative meetings.

I'm not a fan of Bagwell, but here's hoping he does better this go 'round.

Getting Ready!

It’s that time of year again friends and as I live next to the Ohio River I am looking forward to some fun in the sun on my boat. But, before I can get the boat in the water I will need to get it ready for a hopefully long and sunny summer!

Not only getting it ready but also making repairs is a big part of the boating experience that every serious boater will go through from time to time.

Finding the right boat parts can be a chore but you always want to make sure that your boat is water ready so that you will not break down and regret it later!

Once you have everything you need and have it professionally repaired and made ready for the water, then let the fun begin! As far as my boat, I will need to find Evinrude Parts as that’s what my outboard is.

About the 9-year old child that jumped the rail at last week’s house show:

The young kid was told by WWE security to remain in his seat and not jump the rail, but the kid jumped anyway and was not thrown out of the ring, security removed him and he and family were ejected for violaing WWE and building rules.

Initial fan reports claimed he was pulled by the leg and face planted the mat.

Family mourns death of Mike Tyson's daughter

I'm sorry to report the death of Mike Tyson's daughter

She died yesterday at a hospital, a day after she was injured at her Phoenix home. Police say her head somehow got into the loop of a cord hanging under the console of a treadmill, and she was suffocated.She was on life support until her death yesterday.

Web-sensation Spanish blogger, 97, dies

A Spanish great-grandmother who described herself as the world's oldest blogger — and became a Web sensation as she mused on events current and past — has died at the age of 97.

Maria Amelia Lopez died May 20 in her hometown of Muxia in Spain's northwest Galicia region, according to her blog amis95.blogspot.com. No cause of death was given.

Mel Gibson to be Dad Again

Actor Mel Gibson, who is going through a divorce from his wife of 28 years, said on Monday his Russian girlfriend is expecting their baby.

"This is true," Gibson said during an appearance on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" after the host asked him to confirm speculation that musician Oksana Grigorieva was pregnant.

Gibson, 53, who already has seven children, gave away few details, replying jokingly, "A human being, I think," when Leno asked about the baby's gender.

Security Hurts Kid

At this past weekend’s WWE house show in Las Cruces, NM an overexcited child jumped the guard rail and ran in to the ring, hugging CM Punk after his match with Dolph Ziggler. Security pretty much attacked him like an adult and pulled him leg first out of the ring so he face planted the mat.

I smell lawsuit, but that's only my opinion!

Linda Hogan Attacks Her Own Daughter

In regards to Brooke Hogan discussing her mother’s drug issues to the media, one of Linda Hogan’s reps posted this to gossip mogul Perez Hilton:

“Perez, if Brooke continues to spew lies on behalf of her father’s lame attempt to distance himself from the reality that he is no different from the homicidal OJ Simpson, Charlie will be forced to put aside his paramedic/firefighting career path and release an album called ‘Redemption’ which will easily surpass any of Brooke’s records sales. Brooke has always had a problem telling the truth. If it is her claim that her breasts are natural or she hasn’t been banging the crap out of the pot head $tack (her rapper boyfriend) for the last 3 years, then her comments of Charlie being a year and a half younger than her are again a complete fabrication they are 4 months apart. She only judges Charlie because of his long hair and age, Linda doesn’t judge. Here are some cold hard facts; these people who say Linda is doing drugs are friends of Hulk Hogan. Brooke is Hulk’s only remaining mouthpiece and a pawn in his game of control. Linda will walk into any drug testing facility and take a random test and the truth will be she is clean. Put your money where your mouth is Brooke aka Hulk. Brooke ‘thinks’ she’s doing drugs is a hypocrisy when her father and $tack are rolling and smoking joints together in Brooke’s recording session, and Brooke knows it. As for Charlie, he is an accomplished Spring board diver (4th in the Nationals), eagle scout and certified captain in commercial boating with his bigger goal of joining the fire department. We aren’t here to kiss anyone’s ass but Linda would love spend a fun California day with Perez with or without that famous garlic chicken, but you have to go to mass.”

Now I had to ask myself two questions:

1) Why would anyone grant Perez Hilton (or as I refer to him, the bitch) an interview?

2) Does Linda deserve a mother of the year award or what? (that's sarcasm folks!)

but then, that's only my opinion!

TNA have signed former ECW originals Raven and Shane Douglas, as well as former WWE Diva Lisa Marie Varon, aka Victoria.

Raven and Douglas were a major part of the early day of TNA.

The biggest shock her is Victoria, who appeared to retire from WWE to pursue her other projects. She has also been training in MMA.

Whose Line is it Anway reruns! I was never so happy to find that I had this little piece of America there with me. So as my wife slept I enjoyed the comedy of Colin Mocherie, Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady, Brad Sherwood and others.

Mae didnt understand it very well and I really got some looks from her when I was rolling on the bed laughing my guts out.

KISS and The Americon Idol

While in the Philippines I decided to watch the final episode of American Idol just to see who would win and I could possibly update my blog from there, but my bride had other ideas.

I really didn't mind giving in to her as she does take very good care of me and I enjoy watching her favorite shows as well (as long as she is there to translate for me).

But, I found out that KISS appeared on the show just a few minutes after turning the channel (and if you come here often you know I am a card carrying member of the KISS ARMY!) when I returned home.

Oh well, when I finally get her here I will just have her watch a few KISS dvd concert videos, she'll grow to love 'em...

but then, that's only my opinion.

Frost/Nixon

Another movie that I watched on my way to the Philippines was Frost/Nixon and i can say that I honestly enjoyed it, but, I also enjoy history, so if you are not into politics or history you probably will find this movie a bit boring.

But if you are into history then you will enjoy the behind the scenes look at President Nixon admitting he was part of the Watergate scandal that almost got him impeached (he resigned instead)

So if you like history, you will like Frost/Nixon....

But, that's only my opinion

He Will Rock You?

Looks like there have been some eyes on Adam Lambert that could possibly land him a gig with the legendary rock band QUEEN!

Now, I wouldn't want to be in Lambert's shoes as Freddie Mercury would one very hard act to follow, but if anyone ever had the pipes to fill those shoes it would be Adam Lambert.

Nothing is set in stone, but the members of QUEEN seem to be very interested in working with him!

Now to be honest I don't know if this would be the career move a young soon to be star should take. On one hand he may be able to bring the band back to life on the other hand playing front man to a classic rock band could kill any chance that he might have at a very successful solo career.

But then, that's only my opinion!

X MEN Origins: Wolverine

Another movie that I saw when I was in the Philippines was the latest X MEN flick ; Origines:Wolverine.

It definitely lives up to it's hype and it also lives up to the three that came before it. It is action packed with new and old characters and you might learn a thing or two about the X Men bad ass Wolverine!

It kept me on the edge of my seat and I totally recomend that you go and see this movie!

But that's only my opinion!

Grand Torino

I watched a few movies while on the plane headed to the Philippines and i thought I would share my thoughts on some of them with you starting with Clint Eastwood's "Grand Torino".

The best, without a doubt, Eastwood movie ever made! I actually watched this movie going to the Philippines and again coming home. This has to be the best movie I have seen since "Brave Heart" and that's been a long time.

It was well casted, acted and directed and it's the best work Clint Eastwood has ever done!

I recommend you not rent this movie, I recommend that you buy this movie, as you will watch it several times!

But hey, that's only my opinion!

New American Idol

Just getting home from the Philippines and have read that Kris Allen beat out Adam Lambert to be the next American Idol, wow!

I thought Adam Lambert would definitely win since Kris Allen was my pick, granted i only watched once but I really like Allen's style and how he presented a song.

Now I have to give credit where credit is due, Adam Lambert sure does have the pipes (and will have a record deal i am sure) but Allen played instruments, it feels good to see a musician win the American Idol title for a change!

But, that's only my opinion!

I'm Going To Disney World!

I just got married only a week ago and have been thinking, once I get my wife to the states, where we could spend a fun filled honeymoon at a decent price.

I Think He Needs Steriods For His Brain

In promoting his match with Eric Young at the Lockdown PPV, Danny Bonaduce stated that if Young went off script he could beat him saying he couldn't win the match since Young was a regular pro wrestler it would be an embarrassment if he beat him.

Bonaduce also added that he thinks the lack of steroids in wrestling has hurt the sport because wrestlers are supposed to look a certain way and they don't anymore. He said he thinks steroids should be mandatory for pro wrestlers and bragged about his own steroid abuse.

Bonaduce wasn't done yet adding that the biggest problem with steroids in wrestling is that your ass is always sore from shots so it makes taking a bodyslam hurt more. You just can't make this stuff up.

Such an idiot, but that's only my opinion

A Classic?

I watched a movie last night that I knew would be a pretty sad (or should I say bad) one to watch as it was in the movie realm of the likes of "The Toxic Avenger" or "Killer Klowns From Outer Space"

The movie was called "GRUNT: THe Wrestling Movie" and I can't really say it was terrible as it did have it's moments. Moments that made me laugh at the stupidity of the thing and some really good wrestling moments.

Now this B movie was put out in 1985 and has some of the wrestlers from that era in it, such as Danny Spivey, Dick Murdoch and Adrian Street.

Would i recommend it? Probably not, but thats only my opinion.
