I Want To Ride My Bicycle

Lately I have been considering going to the beach on vacation when my wife finally koins me from the Philippines. I have been thinking how nice it would be to be riding a beach bike during the day and walking hand in hand on the beach with my wife at night.

I can see us now riding on a
beach cruiser with the wind in our faces and the sun shining down on us, life will definitely be good when we are there!
I know what you are thinking, what kind of a vacation will it be for a woman that lives on an island yo go to the beach? She will love it, trust me!

FRIENDS again?

It looks like a big screen version of FRIENDS is going to happen according to James Michael Tyler (aka Gunther, the manager of Central Perk). Though nothing has been signed and there are some skeptical thoughts conserning how it would go over without a live audience and multi cameras.

In Lisa Kudrow's own words:

"It would be so fun to be with all those people again, but our show was not like 'Sex and the City', ours was multi-camera, in front of a live audience. It's a completely different feel. You'd have to bring the tone down, and I don't know how it would be. I'll just stay open."

So it does at least sound promising!

Quote Of The Day

From Bill O'Reilly:

"...many believe the USA, Great Britain, and France are not going to be able to stop the mullahs from getting nukes. Few believe the West has a stomach for world war. Certainly Iran believes that. So the arrogant mullahs are going to do what they want to do unless the world economically strangles them, and it doesn't look like that's what's going to happen, thanks to our pals the Russians and Chinese who refuse to clamp down on Iran."

Keeping it On The Road

The Rock Confirmed

It would appear that Dwayne Johnson is looking to be credited as "The Rock" again. After dropping the moniker a few years ago, the former WWE Champion Johnson is being billed as 'Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson' in the trailer for the new animated film Planet 51. You can hear it near the end of the official trailer at www.Planet51.com.

Speaking of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, he will be appearing in a taped segment on the Decade of SmackDown, which is set to air this coming Friday on myNetworkTV. WWE's production crew filmed a promo this past week at his residence.

Quote of The Day

From my Buddy Bill O'Reilly:

"It is long past time for civilized nations to confront the Iranian terrorists in a dramatic way. If Russia and China do not join with America, Britain and France now, they will never do so. It's quite obvious that Israel has plans to attack Iran and is just waiting to see if draconian sanctions will be imposed on the mullahs. Those sanctions have to come soon."

Bankruptcy Information

In this day and age I am hearing the word “bankruptcy” more and more, so I thought it would be a good idea to do some research on this topic for possible future reference and it was a very wise thought that I had because I found a website that has all kinds of information regarding bankruptcy and dealing with financial challenges.

If you are in need of a
Dallas bankruptcy attorney then this site has all of the answers that you might have. It’s a tough world out there and bankruptcy can be a scary part of that world, but when help is there for you to have then you should just take it!

Hulk Hogan Discusses His Threatening Voicemail

Hogan was on Bubba the Love Sponge's show today. They played the recording of him threatening the guy in the band. Hogan said that the guy was his friend Dr. Unger's daughter Chelsea's friend (the name that is beeped out is Chelsea). They were at dinner about a year ago and the Dr. and Chelsea had Hogan leave it as a rib to joke with the guy according to Hogan. Hogan said he'd give Dr. Unger's number to call him and ask him if he wanted to.

KISS Nominated For Hall Of Fame

KISS, LL Cool J and the Red Hot Chili Peppers could be among next year's inductees at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

They are part of an eclectic group of 12 acts in contention for the 2010 class. Other first-time nominees include Genesis, Jimmy Cliff, The Hollies and songwriter Laura Nyro.

Some of the names on the ballot have been there before — Donna Summer, Darlene Love, ABBA, the Chantels, and the Stooges.

Only five acts make it in. The 25th annual induction ceremony is slated for March 15 in New York City. The inductees will be announced in December.

Would anyone care to wager that KISS will be looked over again this year? They should have been in 10 years ago at least!

Who's Calling?

Do you ever get phone calls and then when you check the caller ID you don’t recognize the number so you don’t answer, but it drives you a bit crazy wondering who it was that called you? Well now I am going to let you in on a really great web site that lets you find out just whom that caller was.

Phone Lookup Pro is the
Reverse Phone Lookup web site where you can also file complaints or post comments about phone numbers that have been annoying you! You can even search a number and see comments that were left by others about this number and what to expect from the caller.

In this day and age it’s good to know that you can screen your calls somewhat and feel more in control in this aspect of your life. It’s also good to know that there are people out there in the world that can offer us this convenient tool. So if you are like me friends, you will take this tool and use it in order to get a bit of your control back and not worry about who might be calling again. Someone is calling you friends, do you know who?

Concern Over Marty "Boogeyman" Wright

Former WWE wrestler Marty "The Boogeyman" Wright has apparently gone AWOL. His booking agent, Scott O. Epstein, has been unable to reach him in recent weeks and is at a loss to understand where he is. He coordinated for him to appear at a number of independent venues during the weeks and months ahead which have already been paid for (in part).

Epstein issued the following letter regarding his troubling situation with Wright:

TO: All Media, fans, talent bookers, promoters, and web site administrators

FROM: Scott O. Epstein,Talent agent/publicist, Publicity Management Services “Booker of Champions since 1974)

RE: Scheduled appearances with Marty Wright, pka “The Boogie Man”

Several weeks ago Marty Wright asked me to be his exclusive booking agent. As such, and in good faith, I arranged for him to be at many independent venues during the weeks and months ahead. Promoters have sent deposits for his appearances. These have been placed in an escrow account by me. In addition I am aware that some promoters have already purchased non-refundable and non-transferable plane tickets for him.

Unfortunately, I can no longer contact Mr. Wright. My phone calls, text messages and attempts to contact him through intermediaries have all failed to garner a response. I am at a loss to understand where Marty is.

It is beyond unfortunate that I have been unable to contact Marty at this stage of the game. I can’t help but be concerned about his well being since I can’t imagine anyone simply disappearing without regard to their business obligations. Although the better part of my nature is hanging on to the hope that Marty will re-appear to honor the commitments he had me make on his behalf, I must also face the possibility that he may disappoint his fans, and cost promoters money they can’t recoup. These lost funds would include travel plans, advertising and etc. Of course the deposits held in escrow can be returned upon request at any time. My word is my bond and I enjoy an untarnished reputation. It hurts me to know I’m now in the middle of what could end up being a pretty crappy situation.

I must make those who have hired Marty, as well as the fans that want to see him know that the possibility exists that Marty may be a “no-show”. I still have faith that he is OK and that he will surface, on time, ready to work and please his fans by his first engagement on September 25th. To those who have hired him I want to suggest that you hang in there a couple more days to see if he contacts me or gets word to me.

If I could talk to Marty right this minute I’d say “I’m praying for you, brother. I pray that you’re OK. I also pray that you know the hardest thing to re-capture once it is lost is ‘trust’. In this business if you aren’t trusted, you will not get the work you need nor will you maintain the celebrity status you’ve earned.

Hulk Hogan Threatens To Break Musician's Legs

An audio clip has leaked online of a voicemail message Hulk Hogan left for musician Chase Holfelder, the lead singer of the band The Mile After.

Hogan tells Holfelder that he's messed with the wrong girl (presumably his daughter Brooke) and threatens to have Hells Angels break his legs. To listen to the voicemail message,

Quote of The Day

Well friends, Sunday's media did it again, no one asked Obama anything that amounted to anything. They just gave him the easy questions once again.

This from Bill O'Reilly:

"The key issue... is the massive expense of Obama-care. The president believes the country can pay for health care reform by cracking down on waste and fraud in the present system. Who else believes that? ...And the Congressional Budget Office is issuing dire financial warnings about Obama-care. Now, the [Sunday morning talk show] interviewers should have zeroed in on that. It's very simple. But, of course, they did not. Also, the president said forcing all Americans to buy health insurance and making them pay a penalty if they don't is not a tax, as some believe. Well, he is right on that. It's not a tax. It's a fine. And I think it might be unconstitutional..."

A Real Honeymoon

After my wife gets to the USA from the Philippines I plan to take her on a real honeymoon. Now the question has been where will I take her? I’ve done a lot of searching and researching places that might make the both of us happy and I ran across the idea of checking out some Myrtle Beach Resorts and I was very happy at what I found.

Let’s face it a Honeymoon should be something that is priced right and yet allows you to relax and be romantic. Now what can be more romantic then going to a
Myrtle Beach Resort and enjoying all it has to offer the two of us. I can just see me now, lying on the beach next to my wife, who I know will totally love this plan!

My next step is to choose the right place to stay among all of the
Myrtle Beach Hotels. Life is good and I plan to enjoy my life with my wife by making her very happy and I truly believe a Myrtle Beach honeymoon would be a definite step in the right direction!

Kanye West Offered $10 Million To Wrestle For WWE

A report on urban celebrity news site MediaTakeout.com says that controversial recording artist Kanye West has been offered close to $10 million to come to World Wrestling Entertainment .

The report states that Vince McMahon and WWE have offered Kanye close to $10 million to show up at 3 events – two television appearances and one pay-per-view event.

Word is that if he accepts the offer, Kanye would have to do some "light wrestling." According to MediaTakeOut, Kanye is "seriously considering" the offer.

While the idea of Kanye in WWE sounds like a great chance for WWE to get some mainstream media attention, take this report as a rumor at best. Several years ago this same site reported rapper Eminem was training to become a WWE superstar (never happened), so consider the source.

Quote of The Day

From Bill O'Reilly:

"...the far left is putting out that I am now supporting a public option in health care. That's all over the 'net. But that's not true. Here's the truth. I support a marketplace for private insurance companies overseen by the feds. Left-wing zealots distorted my remarks like they usually do. Now, there are few places Americans can go these days for honest reporting and analysis. I believe FOX News is one of those places. And our ratings prove it."

For My Friends In Australia

As you all know I am always looking for deals on the internet and I like to share them with those that come to my page. Now I won’t only share them with my fellow Americans but for people all over the world.

I was looking into broadband and I came across a website from Australia that you should use to shop around in order to get a better deal on broadband and
wireless connections.

Why spend so much money on the broadband connection that you have now and use this help to find a cheaper way of getting connected to the internet.

Here Is The New Official KISS Photo

The North Carolina Education Lottery showed off its newest ticket Friday afternoon at zMax Dragway in Concord. It features pro-wrestler Ric Flair, who is a Charlotte native.

Prizes range from $10 to $100,000.

For just $5, you can try your luck with the Nature Boy-inspired ticket. Stores will start selling them next Tuesday.

The Conversation

Sometimes on Sundays when my family gets together it’s kind of fun to listen to my sisters talk about their work, they are both registered nurses and they have a lot of interesting thing to say about the profession that they chose.

One of my sister’s works the “emergency room”. While the other heads up the “maternity ward” and between the two I find their stories fascinating be it
hypochondriac symptoms or the newest in style scrubs . I’m sure some might not find these conversations as interesting as me but I’m sure many would.

They discuss other thing such as where are the best
best places to be a nurse and how those places compare to the hospital that they both work in now. I don’t know maybe I just enjoy the conversation because the family is together or maybe I really do find it interesting or maybe I just admire them so much for what they do in saving lives or helping to bring new life into this world.

I really do admire them and all nurses I guess because they give so selflessly and they don’t get anywhere near the compensation that they should. It’s nice to know that I have two sisters that took on this challenge and they find themselves being better people for it!

I Want My Whose Line

Why oh why am I having such a hard time staying awake on Thursday nights to see my favorite show "Whose Line Is It Anyway"? Answer: because they won't air it until midnight on the "family channel"! It used to be on ever weekday night at 10:00 and now It's only on one night a week and on too late for me to truly enjoy it.

I go to their website , as I always do when reasearching or looking for answers and I find no way to contact them with my complaint. Now isn't that a friendly "family channel"

Quote of The Day

Charlie Daniels speaks on the liberals using the race card when it comes to critisism of Pres. Obama:

"I don't even remember her name. Just another female politician on television telling the world that America didn't want to see Barack Obama succeed because he is the same color she is, which happens to be black.

This is a truly lame excuse to use for people not supporting Obama.

The majority of American voters voted for him and gave him control of both houses of Congress, and this woman actually thinks that Americans don't like him. That's bad arithmetic.

Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have been telling us for decades that the problems facing black Americans are all caused by white Americans, that a black person can't get anywhere close to the upper echelons of power in this country because of the rampant racism.

Well I think Obama's election has taken the wind out of those sails, a black man with a Muslim name has been elected to the most important job in the world.

So let's just cut the crap about racism. If America was a primarily racist country there is no way in this world Barack Obama would have been elected."

Feeling Safe

In this day and age it is kind of crazy not to have some kind of home security system to protect you and your family. Now I live just a forty five minute drive from Cincinnati, Ohio and I have been looking into home security systems cincinnati would have to offer.

I am being more safety conscious especially now that my wife will be joining me soon so searching
security systems cincinnati may have to offer is my first step. In looking for this I have been thinking of the type of system that I would need for my home and prices that I can afford as well.

I definitely would like a program that would monitor my home 24/7 and that would automatically call the police department, fire department, or an ambulance when needed. I would want to pay a price that makes sense for the quality of service that I will be receiving as well, somewhere in the forty dollar a month range I would definitely hope for.

I’m not the richest man in the world friends, but I do want to protect what I have, so I am going to get the best
security system cincinnati has to offer and at a price I can afford!

RIP Guiding Light

I guess today is the final day of Guiding Light. I never watched the show but I do believe it is sad for a show of 72 years to just fade away.

But, in my opinion, it looks like the beginning of the end for the daytime dramas and you can put the blame on OJ Simpson. When his trial ran on every network channel the soaps were no where to be found and then when it was over, people just didnt get back into the routine of watching.

gee thanks OJ

Quote of The Day

A little tidbit from Bill O'Reilly on the death of ACORN:

"It's all over for ACORN, as liberal politicians are running away from that activist group as fast as they can. Just yesterday, Speaker Pelosi said she didn't understand what all the fuss was about. Well, apparently she found out [describing what she has heard about the controversy as inexcusable]... When any group gets millions of taxpayers' dollars, it has an obligation to hire honest folks and represent all the American people. ACORN did neither. And so it's toast, burnt, finished, kaput. Will you miss them?"

Disappointment

As much as I trust Fox news and love the O'Reilly Factor I was very disappointed this morning on "Fox and Friends" when they had KISS as guest to promote their new cd "SONIC BOOM" and their US Tour and they were given all of 30 seconds and they barely got a word in.

I hope there other promos go better!

Quote of The Day

Again from Bill O'Reilly:

"After seeing undercover video of ACORN employees promoting prostitution, even underage prostitution, the Senate voted 83 to 7 to stop giving ACORN federal money. But seven senators opposed that... Simply put, how could they do that? Scores of ACORN people have been arrested, 30 convicted of crimes. And now this scandal? And seven senators want to continue giving the organization taxpayer money? Come on."

Triple H To Accompany Mayweather This Weekend

When Floyd Mayweather hits the ring this Saturday night against Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, he'll be joined by The Game himself, HHH. Mayweather said Triple H was "one of the greatest guys in the world" and that it'd be an honor to have him by his side." Triple H responded by saying, "It is an honor to walk the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world back into the ring. Floyd 'Money' Mayweather has shown WWE tremendous support and it is my pleasure to return the favor this Saturday by standing at his side as he defeats Marquez in what I am sure will be boxing's fight of the year."

It's Time

Everyone that comes to my page knows that I am trying to redecorate my house before my wife joins me from the Philippines. Now, something that my wife has always wanted is a grandfather clock and now that I have been looking at them I have to agree a grandfather clock would definitely look awesome in our home.

There were so many
grandfather clocks to look at that it took a while for us to make up our minds on which one to choose. Well I believe we found the right grandfather clock for us when we saw the Howard Miller Cosmopolitan Grandfather Clock on 1-800-4 clocks! It is an amazing clock, so beautiful and with such a modern look about it.

We are so happy with our choice, now I just need to get my wife here to choose the place in house to show off this beautiful clock!

Sonic Boom

Just a reminder friends, that KISS' new cd SONIC BOOM will be released on October 6th and can be bought at Walmart.

Kurt Angle Found Not Guilty

Kurt Angle was found not guilty of harassment and other charges were dropped on Tuesday stemming from the alleged stalking of his ex-live-in girlfriend.

District Judge Carla Swearingen cleared Angle on the harassment charge related to the PFA order, and Angle is living at home again while Biggers has moved out.

Dismissed by the judge were charges of driving with a suspended license -- stemming from Angle's refusal of a breath test on an unrelated DUI charge that he beat at trial in 2007 -- and drug possession related to two vials of human growth hormone in Angle's car at the time of his arrest last month. Angle said he has a prescription for HGH and uses it for an ongoing condition related to previous neck injuries from wrestling.

Finding The Right Gift

Well friends, it looks like my wife will be joining me here from the Philippines possibly in December and that makes for a great Christmas present for me! Now I only have to find her a Christmas gift that will put a smile on her beautiful face.

So as always, I look on the internet and as always I found something that I think will do the trick! She has wanted a really good watch for a while and now I think I have found just that watch.

Patek Philippe watches are so beautiful and would look so good on her, now I just need to choose the one that she’ll love! Wish me luck!

Trivia for "Star Trek" The Original Series

* James Doohan (Scotty) lost his right middle finger during World War II. Most of his scenes are shot to hide it. However, it is very noticeable in "Catspaw". When Scotty is holding a phaser pistol on Kirk & Spock, only two fingers are holding the butt of the phaser.

* "Shore Leave" is the only episode in which the U.S.S. Enterprise is seen orbiting a planet from right to left. The I.S.S. Enterprise also does this briefly in the parallel universe, in the teaser to "Mirror, Mirror", but by the beginning of Act I, it is again orbiting from left to right.

* Due to budget constraints, the element of "parallel" or "mirror" Earth planets was used on several occasions to keep set and make-up costs down. (i.e. "Miri", "Bread and Circuses", "A Piece of the Action", "Patterns of Force" and more.)

* Martin Landau was originally offered the role of Commander Spock, but declined. Leonard Nimoy, who accepted the part, took over the role of disguise-expert on "Mission: Impossible" (1966) when Landau left that show. Mission: Impossible was also filmed on the same lot as Star Trek, therefore when "Star Trek" (1966) ended, Nimoy merely crossed the street to go to his new job.

* Shortly after the cancellation of the series, the staff of the marketing department of the NBC TV network confronted the network executives and berated them for canceling Star Trek, the most profitable show on the network in terms of demographic profiling of the ratings. They explained that although the show was never higher than #52 in the general ratings, its audience profile had the largest concentration of viewers of ages 16 to 39, the most sought after television audience for advertisers to reach. In other words, the show, despite the low ratings, had the precise audience advertisers hungered for, which was more than ample justification to consider the show a big success.

* In 2000, the show was listed in the Guinness Book of Records as having the largest number of spin-off productions, including the feature film series and the numerous TV series.

* Many elements of the Spock character were improvised by Leonard Nimoy during production. For instance, the "Vulcan neck pinch" was his suggestion during filming of "The Enemy Within" for how Spock could subdue an opponent. The "Vulcan salute" was created during the production of "Amok Time" using a version of a traditional Jewish religious hand gesture as a distinctive Vulcan greeting.

* Lloyd Bridges was approached to play Capt. Pike in the original pilot but turned it down believing that a science-fiction show would hurt his career. Jeffrey Hunter, who played Capt. Pike, was replaced after his salary demands were deemed to be too high.

* Gene Roddenberry originally conceived the Klingons as looking more alien than they do in the series, but budget restriction prevented this. When the show moved to the big screen, he was finally able to make Klingons look more alien. The resulting continuity break between TOS and the movies and later series was addressed in _"Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" (1993) Trials and Tribble-ations (#5.06)_, in which the character of Worf confirms that something did happen to make the Klingons appear human, but he says that they "do not discuss it with outsiders." Miles O'Brien asks if it was some kind of genetic engineering while Julian Bashir asks if it was a viral mutation. In the fourth and final season of the fifth "Star Trek" series "Enterprise" (2001) a two-parter dealt with the exact nature of why some Klingons (that would be the Klingons from the original series) did not have the "knotted" forehead that visually characterized all Klingons portrayed starting with Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979). The premise was that a group of Klingons on a Klingon-populated world separate from their home world are exposed to a virus that modifies their appearance to that of the way they looked in TOS (and the crew, especially the ship's doctor in "Enterprise" (2001) manage to discover and generate a medical fix for the malady, of course). In short, both O'Brien's and Bashir's inquiries are proven correct.

* Gene Roddenberry once hypothesized that the Enterprise carried a platoon of Starfleet Marines, but they never appeared onscreen in the original series. The Starfleet Marines would eventually make an appearance, but not until Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991) and "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" (1993). The idea was revived with the addition of a group of "space marines" beginning in the 2003-2004 season of "Enterprise" (2001).

* One of the writers, D.C. Fontana, was told to use the initials "D.C." by Gene Roddenberry because networks at the time generally wouldn't hire women writers. Her first name is Dorothy.

* Contrary to popular belief, Captain Kirk never said, "Beam me up, Scotty," in any episode.

* Grace Lee Whitney was supposed to be the lead female character, hence her prominent role as Yeoman Janice Rand in the first season. However, the producers let go of the character after the first season, much to the fans' regret. Whitney, however was asked back for most of the Star Trek movies, reprising her role as Janice.

* Stardates were established in order to keep the audience guessing as to when the series takes place. A calendar year for the adventures of the Enterprise crew is never given in any episode, and Gene Roddenberry said the series could have taken place anywhere from the 21st to the 31st Centuries. By the time of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" (1987), however, calendar years for Trek adventures had been established and the official Star Trek Chronology now indicates that the original "Star Trek" TV series takes place between the years 2266 and 2269. (Later in "Star Trek: Voyager: Q2 (#7.19)" (2001) it was said that Kirk's five-year mission ended in 2270.) It wasn't until Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan (1982), where the 23rd century time line is established, and the movie begins with the caption "In the 23rd Century...".

* This is the only "Star Trek" series not to feature regulars from any other. However, Diana Muldaur who appeared in "Return to Tomorrow" and "Is There in Truth No Beauty?" later played the character of Dr. Katharine Pulaski during Season Two of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" (1987). Although she appeared in almost every episode of the season, she was never considered a regular.

* Malachi Throne provided the voice of the Talosian Keeper in the first pilot "The Cage", which was also Leonard Nimoy's first "Star Trek" appearance. Throne was also with Nimoy for his final "Star Trek" appearance, the "Star Trek: The Next Generation" (1987) Season Five episode "Unification Part II".

* Both pilots for "Star Trek" (1966) - "The Cage" and "Where No Man Has Gone Before" - were the only episodes not filmed at the current-day Paramount Studio lot in Hollywood. They were filmed at the present-day Sony Pictures Culver Studios in Culver City, California.

* Jerry Goldsmith was Gene Roddenberry's first choice to write the theme for this series. Years later, Goldsmith wrote the theme to Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979), which later was used for "Star Trek: The Next Generation" (1987).

* According to Leonard Nimoy, Gene Roddenberry's first choice for Spock was George Lindsey

* In the first season of "Star Trek" (1966), only William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy had their names appear in the opening credits. It wasn't until the start of the second season that the opening credits were slightly extended to include DeForest Kelley as well. The names for James Doohan, Walter Koenig, Nichelle Nichols, and George Takei have all appeared in the closing credits for all 3 seasons of the show, since they didn't always appear together in every episode.

* In the hallways of the Enterprise there are tubes marked "GNDN", these initials stand for "goes nowhere does nothing".

* The series' opening credits has lyrics that were never used (although they were published in the book "The Making of Star Trek", by Stephen J. Whitfield). They were written by Gene Roddenberry so that he would receive a residual for the theme's use alongside the theme's composer, Alexander Courage.

* Actor Mark Lenard, best known for his role as Sarek, Spock's father, was the first actor to play a member of all three of the major alien races: Romulan, Vulcan, and Klingon (he is the commander of the Klingon attack group at the beginning of Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979).

* The slanting crawlway that leads up to the warp-drive nacelles is referred to as a "Jefferies tube." This is a reference to art director Walter M. Jefferies.

* When NBC was promoting "Star Trek" (1966) in magazines, all shots of Spock's pointed eyebrows and ears where airbrushed out of the pictures because NBC thought that no one would watch the show due to Spock's resemblance to the Devil. However, this concern was quickly invalided upon the series' airing with Spock becoming not only one of the most popular characters, but also a sex symbol with young female viewers, an audience reaction no one in the cast or crew anticipated.

* On at least two occasions ("Miri" & "City on the Edge of Forever") the exterior Mayberry set from "The Andy Griffith Show" (1960) was used. In "City," as Kirk walks Edith home, they pass by the easily recognizable courthouse, Floyd's barbershop, Emmett's repair shop, and the grocery.

* In several episodes, prop beverage bottles were modified from existing alcohol bottles. Aldeberan Whiskey bottles were Cuervo Gold 1800 Tequila bottles. Bottles used for Saurian Brandy were George Dickel Tennessee Sour Mash Whiskey carafes.

* According to official blueprints of the Enterprise, published in 1975, among features on the ship that were never mentioned on the TV series were two auxiliary bridges, a second sickbay area, a swimming pool, a garden, and a six-lane bowling alley. This last item, no doubt included in the blueprints as a joke, is the earliest known case of humor creeping into the background of the show's designs; this would become commonplace in the other "Star Trek" TV series of the '80s and '90s.

* According to the Hollywood Entertainment Museum, as of fall 2003 only a few pieces of the original 1960s bridge survive. The museum, on Hollywood Blvd., incorporates two original turboshaft doors into its Star Trek display, while a Los Angeles bookstore reportedly owns the original captain's chair.

* A bowling alley aboard the USS Enterprise, as shown in the 1975 blueprints, was actually mentioned in the episode "The Naked Time". In that episode, Lt. Kevin Riley (Bruce Hyde) declares that "a formal dance will be held in the bowling alley at 1900 hours tonight." However, he was also quite delusional, so it's not certain that the bowling alley he spoke of actually existed.

* Mr. Spock was played as much more emotional and "human" in the original rejected pilot, "The Cage". This is very noticeable during the flashback sequences of the two-part episode, "The Menagerie". The flashbacks were simply scenes from the original pilot, re-edited into the new episodes.

* Ranked #1 in TV Guide's list of the "30 Top Cult Shows Ever!" (29 June 2007 issue).

* The Star Trek Crews from all the "Star Trek" series were ranked #2 in TV Guide's list of the "25 Greatest Sci-Fi Legends" (1 August 2004 issue).

* Spock's farewell remark "Live long and prosper" was ranked #5 in TV Guide's list of "TV's 20 Top Catchphrases" (21-27 August 2005 issue).

* Scotty's full name is Montgomery Scott. The name was improvised on the spot by James Doohan and Gene Roddenberry: 'Scott' because Roddenberry liked Doohan's Scottish brogue, and 'Montgomery' because it's Doohan's middle name.

* Leonard Nimoy (Spock) is the only actor to appear in all 79 episodes of the series.

* Even though they played father and son. Mark Lenard (Sarek) was only six years older then Leonard Nimoy (Spock).

* Leonard Nimoy and Majel Barrett are the only actors to appear in both the first ("The Cage") and last ("Turnabout Intruder") episodes of the series.

* The uniforms were color coded to show what division of the ship that the crew member was assigned to. The colors were: gold - command, navigation, and weaponry; red - engineering, security, and ship's services; and blue - science and medicine. In practice, the gold uniforms often appeared apple green, which some have attributed to local interference with television signals. However, what actually occurred was that the peculiar green tunic was green, but under the lights on the set it appeared gold in most lighting conditions. However, the true color can be seen in Kirk's special "wrap-around" tunic and to some extent in the special occasion "dress" uniforms, both of which were made out of different materials which reflected the light differently. The uniforms were dry-cleaned, but the velour tended to shrink, so they had to constantly be altered which is why they often looked short on the actors.

* Each starship and starbase had its own insignia, which was worn on the left breast of the uniform. The Enterprise's insignia was the now well known arrowhead shape. The boomerang shape from the side of the ship was the starfleet command insignia.

* Gene Roddenberry originally conceived Spock's skin color to be red, which would have meant extra hours in make-up for Leonard Nimoy. Fortunately for him, an early make-up test showed that the red color merely appeared as black on black-and-white televisions. Since most televisions in the '60s were still black-and-white, the idea was dropped.

* According to William Shatner's Star Trek TV memoirs, DeForest Kelley was the first one considered for the role of Spock.

* Two models of the Enterprise were used on the show. One is 3 feet long and the other is 11 feet long.

* Leonard Nimoy's makeup had a faint greenish hue to it, because of his green Vulcan blood. Because the makeup was hand-mixed, the amount of green varied slightly, and in many shots (even close-ups) it's not really visible.

* Many "guest" voices were actually supplied by James Doohan, including those of Sargon (Return to Tomorrow), the M-5 and Commodore Enwright (The Ultimate Computer), Providers 2 and 3 (The Gamesters of Triskelion), a NASA technician (Assignment: Earth) and a radio announcer (A Piece of the Action).

* In many episodes, alien art work and wall hangings were in reality discarded protective Styrofoam shipping box liners from tape recorders used by fellow Desilu/Paramount show "Mission: Impossible", spray painted various colors and arranged into various combined forms.

* The series' running "I'm a doctor, not a..." gag originated in the comedy The Kennel Murder Case (1933). The coroner in that film, played by Etienne Girardot, repeatedly claims to be a doctor not a reporter, detective, etc.

* Leonard Nimoy's father was a barber, who was still operating a barbershop at the time the series became popular. In a mid-1960s interview with 16 Magazine, Nimoy revealed that youngsters often came into the shop asking for a "Mr. Spock" haircut, never realizing that "Mr. Spock's dad" was cutting their hair.

* At the time of NASA's first space shuttle launches, Nichelle Nichols was an official spokeswoman for the administration.

* Both Gene Roddenberry and James Doohan (Lt. Commander Scott) arranged to have vials containing small amounts of their ashes launched into orbit via satellites. This last request was successfully accomplished in both cases.

* Recently, James Doohan's son attempted to purchase a life-sized wax replica of his father at a Hollywood wax museum auction, but was outbid by an unidentified fan.

* The shimmer of the transporter beam was actually a film of aluminum powder being blown into the air by an industrial fan, under a bright spotlight.

* Jack Lord was approached for the role of Capt. Kirk, but Lord demanded 50% ownership of the show and was turned down.

* The 11-foot studio model of the USS Enterprise is on display in the National Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.

* In the original series, the 'arrowhead' badge worn by the crew of the Enterprise was meant to be an insignia for the Enterprise only. If you'll notice on any 'guest' Starfleet character, they all wear different symbols on their uniforms. And Commadores wore a 'starburst' or 'sun' insignia. By the time Star Trek hit the big screen in Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979), the Arrowhead insignia was adopted as the official Starfleet symbol and has remained so throughout the films and spin-off series, with the exception of "Enterprise" (2001) which pre-dates the original series.

* Leonard Nimoy modeled Spock after George Burns and his cigar. George's amused and unflustered acceptances of Gracie Allen's ramblings influenced Spock's interactions with Dr. McCoy.

* Sulu and Uhura didn't have first names in this series. Sulu did get a first name (Hikaru) but not until Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991). In Season 2 DVD Special Features, Nichelle Nichols reveals that she and Gene Roddenberry accepted the first name "Niota" for her character, which is a Swahili word meaning "Star". Uhura is a variant of "Uhuru", Swahili for "freedom".

* Martin Landau was offered the role of Mr. Spock, but turned it down. The reason was Mr. Landau was a drama teacher. He felt an actor's role is to act. Spock had no emotion and Landau felt an actor had to have emotions. Leonard Nimoy subsequently played Spock as a character that didn't act, but rather react.

* Captain Kirk's birthplace was established to be the state of Iowa, according to Gene Roddenberry in his book "The Making of Star Trek". Although an exact city was never established throughout the series, in 1985 the town of Riverside, Iowa officially proclaimed itself to be the "Future Birthplace of James T. Kirk". Steve Miller, a member of the Riverside City Council who had read Roddenberry's book, suggested to the council that Riverside should proclaim itself to be the future birthplace of Kirk. Miller's motion passed unanimously and the council later wrote to Roddenberry for his permission to be designated as the official birthplace of Kirk, to which Roddenberry agreed. The town is home to many Star Trek-related attractions, events and displays, including a replica of the USS Enterprise (named the USS Riverside), as well as plays host to the annual Riverside Trek Festival.

* Stagehands would pull the turbolift doors on cue with ropes and cables. They would also slide panels by to give the illusion of decks being passed inside the turbolift cars. Some of the more familiar bloopers are that of main actors nonchalantly running into sliding doors that hadn't opened as their characters needed to show full faith in the technology of the Enterprise while stagehands often missed their cues. One of the show's "blooper reels", often shown at Star Trek conventions, includes a full minute of shots of William Shatner walking into various doors and reacting with his favorite profanity (which is not spelled S-H-A-T).

* William Shatner requested that his name in the opening credits be 10% larger in size than that of his co-stars, Leonard Nimoy and DeForest Kelley.

* Television shows of the era that filmed at the same studios often shared minor cast members. It is common to see familiar faces in episodes of "Star Trek" (1966), "Batman" (1966), "Mission: Impossible" (1966) and "The Wild Wild West" (1965).

* Stardates are used throughout the series to give the audience an unrealistic look at the time-frame in which the series occurred, however each airing throughout the series were rarely aired in chronological order according to the designated Stardate. This could have been an error on the writer's part or a cleaver design added to the show.

Quote of The Day

With the Acorn video scandals going on right now (watch the FOX news network friends, and you'll know what I am talking about) Bill O'Reilly has a word or two to say about it!

"ACORN [which has come under fire for a variety of controversial activities] is a tax-exempt organization that should immediately lose that status, and Attorney General Holder should begin an intense investigation. [It] should be noted that ACORN openly operated under the Bush administration as well and little was done to rein them in, but now their cover has been blown and the Feds must act. Political corruption on this scale cannot be tolerated in the United States of America."

Kurt Angle is in court today

WPXI out of Pittsburgh is reporting that Kurt Angle is in court today, due to his ongoing case with Rhaka Khan.

This is getting ridiculous, it sounds like a pure case of a woman scorned to me.

Quote of The Day

I really enjoy watching the O'Reilly Factor and it's very rare that I disagree with him and this time is no different:

"The fact of the matter here is that President Obama believes a huge federal government can bring relief and prosperity to the American people. But many Americans do not believe that. They think big government will harm them and screw things up so badly [that] everyone will suffer, not just those without health insurance."

Some Friendly Advice

You know friends a while back I realized that there is more to having a computer then just turning it on and surfing or chatting. I simply take it for granted that everything about the computer will just take care of itself.

I have been told of certain things that I should check, such as;
video drivers, motherboard drivers and modem drivers for updates. Ok, thanks for the advice but they didn’t tell me how to go about doing this. So as I always do, I researched and in doing this research I have found Driver Access.

At Driver Access I can get a free scan that usually takes 1 minute and lets me know which of my computer hardware parts need to have their drivers updated and with over 1.5 million drivers in their database it’s a sure bet that I will find what I am needing. So there you have it friends, someone passed advice to me and now I pass it on to you and a solution as well!

9 More Days

Well friends, only 9 more days before I head back to the Philippines to visit my wife. Just take it for granted that I am excited to see my wife, I also like the television over there. I'm not sure if it's because of the actual shows or the fact that my wife lays next to me and translates. I would think the latter though.

So anyways, i wont be posting while I am over there so I hope you friends wont stop coming to visit my page but just have patience with me. thanks.

RIP Patrick Swayze

Patrick Swayze died Monday after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57.

It's a sad day, this man was so talented and such a fighter and it's so sad to see him leave this world. His many movies that i watched I seemed to enjoy them all, especially knowing that he actually did all of his own stunts, now that's rare.

Rest in peace patrick, you've earned it

Jeff Hardy Could Get Serious Time

The Charlotte Observer is reporting that local law enforcement raided Jeff Hardy's Cameron home at about 10:30 a.m. on Friday morning after receiving information developed by the Fayetteville Police Department.

The newspaper says Hardy was at home with "his wife" when the raid took place. Presumably, she is his fiancee Beth. She was not arrested.

Chief Deputy Neil Godfrey of the Moore County Sheriff's Office said the case remains under investigation and further charges are possible. He declined to say whether the additional charges could be against Hardy or others.

He added it's too early to determine whether the drugs found in Hardy's home were for personal use or distribution to others.

The article also noted that opium trafficking, which is one of the charges Hardy faces, carries a mandatory prison sentence of three to fourteen years, even for first-time offenders

Making Both Of Us Happy

Well friends, the time is almost here, my wife will soon join me here in the states from her home in the Philippines, so I better be getting my television provider changed so that she can get the programs that she likes as well.

Direct TV has the international channels available that will fit our needs once she is here, and hey, they also have all the great HD channels that I enjoy so much too! Satellite Directv seems to be the best choice for us as they have every channel that we will need and at a price we can afford!

We have discussed this and did quite a bit of research and we have come to the conclusion that
DirectTV is the best among all that we’ve seen and this is the way we are going. Now we can watch the programs that I love and the shows that she loves as well, I would say Direct TV and us are a match made in heaven!

Kanye West Is A NUT

Can you believe this friends:

Kanye showed up on the MTV Video Music Awards stage next to Taylor Swift, right in the middle of her acceptance speech for Best Female Video for "You Belong With Me." It was the first Moon Man for the 19-year-old country starlet, who has become an equally huge star in the pop world.

"I always dreamed about what it would be like to win one of these one day," Taylor said with surprise. "I never thought it would happen."
As Taylor continued, Kanye interrupted, saying he thought Beyonce's "Single Ladies" video was wrongly overlooked. "Hey Taylor, I'm really happy for you, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time."

Taylor looked humiliated.

Now my question is, who in the hell does Kayne West think he is and why wasn't his ass drug off of the stage? If he wants to voice his opinion then he needs to start a blog, he doesn't need to be humiliating teenage girls!

Is his own career so unsatisfying that he needs to mess with others careers? I think people should stop allowing this crap and the people that do this should lose their deals!

But, that's only my opinion

Ric Flair-Hulk Hogan-Eric Bischoff

Last week it was reported that Ric Flair was in talks to participate in Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff's upcoming Hulkamania tour of Australia. Diamond Dallas Page, a long time friend of Eric Bischoff, is also negotiating to appear.

Lacey Von Erich, former WWE developmental diva and daughter of the late Kerry Von Erich, announced yesterday on her twitter account that she's been booked for the tour.

Wedding Invitations

Are you getting married soon or perhaps you are just considering it and you are looking for answers to a lot of the questions that you have. Questions like; where to get married, whom to invite, what kind of wedding invitations do we send out.

Well friends, I may be able to help you with the last one as I just recently got married, back in may, and we were very pleased with the invitations that we sent out.

If you’re seriously looking for
wedding invitations that stand out in class as well as beauty, so that people that you send them to will know that this is going to be a real event then I suggest a letterpress wedding invitation .

letterpress is a printing technique that was first used back in the 1800’s where individual letters were carefully hand set, inked and impressed into sheets of paper and that’s the same way it’s done today, well with a few modern improvements, so you know that this invitation is in a class all it’s own!

I can only tell you how many really good compliments that we have received on the invitations alone, and it feels good to know that the invitations that we sent out made people want to come to the wedding even more.

Bill O'Reilly on terrorism:

"When looking at the terrorist landscape today, Iran emerges as the most dangerous entity. But again, some liberal Americans don't want to confront Iran. And certainly Europe has been weak on the issue. Russia's actually helping the mullahs develop nuclear weapons. So the world has not learned very much from the 9/11 murders. The USA continues to fight the good fight, but Islamic fascism is still very dangerous. Somebody tell the liberal community..."

Guerrero, Jericho & Matt Hardy Comment On Jeff's Arrest

Several current WWE stars have posted thoughts on Jeff Hardy's arrest on Twitter. Below are comments:

Chavo Guerrero: "Hey guys, just heard about jeff Hardy. Don't know details yet but i want to give my support. Jeff is a classy person and also have his back!"

Chris Jericho:
"Don't think of judging Jeff Hardy until you've walked a mile in his shoes. I will always have Jeffs back..."

Matt Hardy: "Thanks for the support on SD tonight-I know I'm not 100% yet, but I promise you I'll get there. And remember, innocent until proven guilty... It's been a long, stressful day for me.. But, everything will be ok.. Guaranteed. Like Public Enemy said "Don't Believe The Hype!""

Getting Ready

You have to love those “end of summer clearance sales” that go on this time of year every year. Things that I have been wanting all summer long go on sale to prices I can afford.

What I really have been looking for is some out door furniture that I can actually afford and still can be proud to display it on my patio. Your right friends, not an easy task during the summer months, but hey, fall is coming on now and when it’s fall the prices fall!

So I have been doing like I always do searching the internet for deals on said out door furniture and I have ran right into some great deals on
home furnishings as well! Everything from Bathroom Vanities to Poker Tables and beyond! Great furniture at great prices, well friends, now it looks like I will be needing to rethink this whole thing because if I can get furniture at these prices then I will have to get some for inside the house as well!

My wife will be so proud and happy when she joins me here in the states, she will be living comfortable on awesome furniture and I didn’t break our bank account doing it!

Quote of The Day

I swear to you, if Charlie Daniels would run for president he would definitely have my vote and I have a feeling he would get more votes then even I would believe!

"What this world needs is a few more rednecks
Some people with the nerve to take a stand
What this world needs is a little more respect
For the Lord and the law and the working man

We could use a little peace and satisfaction
Some good people up front to take the lead
A little less talk and a little more action
And a few more rednecks is what we need"

Jeff Hardy's Shocking Arrest

Professional wrestler Jeff Hardy is in the Moore County jail Friday after being arrested on charges of trafficking in controlled prescription pills and possession of anabolic steroids.

You Have Questions, They Have Answers

Have you ever looked in the mirror and your just not pleased at what it staring back at you? Maybe there is something that you would simply want to change about yourself? A lot of women these days are getting breast enlargement and if you are one that is thinking about this procedure then you need to get all the facts.

I have come across the website for “Total Healthcare” and I must say that if you have the questions then they have the answers! SO if you’re thinking about taking that step and having breast enlargement then I would suggest your first step be toward “Total Healthcare”, that’s where you will find what you are looking for.

Hogan/Bischoff Tour

Regarding Hulk Hogan's upcoming tour of Australia: The Hulkster has never actually been to Australia, which may make for big ticket sales. The 2002 show in Melbourne, that Hogan pulled out of two weeks before, drew 56,000 fans. However, that was seven years ago and Hogan arguably had more interest than any other WWE wrestler at the time including The Rock.

Quote of The Day

Bill O'Reilly explains the two missing elements in Obama-Care:

"The strength of Obama's vision is controlling costs and eliminating the chaos that comes from 40 million uninsured Americans potentially using hospital emergency rooms for medical care. The weakness in Obama-care is the massive spending involved and the specter of rationing health care, because there will not be enough doctors and nurses to handle all the new patients. So we're going to have to wait. At this point, the president is basically dodging those two realities."

Protecting The Planet

Let’s face it friends, it’s time that we start treating our planet better before it decides not to take care of us at all. There are a lot of ways that we can go about doing that, but in this post I would like to focus on one way.

I really didn’t know too much about this subject until I ran across it on the internet and that is electric bikes.

An
electric bike can get you where you want to go in a fast, efficient and eco-friendly manner. If you want the exercise then pedal the bike if you just want to enjoy the ride then leave those pesky pedals alone.

Finding
electric bikes for sale might be a bit difficult but since you are friends of mine of course I will send you in the right direction. When you find those electric bikes for sale you can honestly say that you are doing your part in taking care of our planet.

So beat the traffic, pass by the gas pump, and make your planet a better place to live and buy an electric bike, that’s exactly what I am going to do and I recommend that you do the same!

Jerry Lewis Telethon

The 2009 Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon raised a whopping $60.5 million dollars over Labor Day. The annual telethon was watched by nearly 40 million viewers and it is still one of the most needed benefits in the world today.

It's become more meaningful to me lately as my nephew has a form of MD and it is so discouraging watching him go through this but with the help of Jerry's kids it's much easier for him and his family.

God bless you Jerry Lewis!

And The Winner Is....

Well friends it looks like Ellen DeGeneres will be taking Paula Abdul's spot on American Idol. Someone should really explain to me how someone with no talent should be able to judge talent.

Sorry folks but they definitely could have made a better choice then Ellen, when was the last time you heard her sing? If you have heard her sing was she even on key? Doubtful.

Oh well, it's not like I watch the karaoke show anyway, good luck to them!
