Latest on Hulk Hogan signing with TNA

Here is what is known at least as of today.

* When asked about Vince Russo (the current head of TNA creative), Hogan said as long as Russo knew his place in the company then everything would be fine.

* The feeling is that Hogan will be a major on-screen character for TNA, but wasn't expected to be wrestling on regular basis for the company.

* One part of this deal is that Spike TV will get the first look at the proposed Hogan/Ric Flair reality series.

* Speaking of Flair, he did sign a three year deal with Eric Bischoff's company to become part of the upcoming "Hulkamania" tour of Australia in November (which is still taking place). While nothing is official, the general feeling is that Flair signing with Bischoff means he will stay involved with Hogan which could mean a possible involvement with TNA.

* Were told this was the first of many big announcements to come from TNA and Spike TV. What would be bigger than Hogan and Bischoff signing with the company is anyone's guess. Early speculation is a possible timeslot change for Impact moving to Monday night's to go head-to-head with Raw or additional programming that was announced when TNA signed a new TV deal with Spike this year.

* To reiterate, Dave Meltzer is reporting that they only wanted to announce the signing of Hogan and Bischoff today and that something bigger is expected soon.

* CNN cameras were filming footage at the press conference today. Hogan is on "Larry King Live" tonight so he will more than likely plug his TNA signing and his new book.

Love That Golf!

I love Golf, there I said it and I thought it was about time that I talked about golf on this page or my love of it anyway. According to a source, there have been preliminary discussions between TNA and Ric Flair as part of the same deal that brought Hulk Hogan and Bischoff-Hervey Entertainment into the company.

Hulk Hogan And Eric Bischoff Sign With TNA Wrestling

Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff have signed with TNA Wrestling. The announcement was made at a press conference in New York City earlier today. There were SPIKE TV and TNA banners up at the press conference, and Jimmy Hart was present with Hogan. CNN's Larry King Live had a camera crew there shooting footage for tonight's Hogan appearance.

Heated Backstage Argument Between AJ Styles & Vince Russo

According to sources, head of TNA creative Vince Russo and current TNA World Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles had a rather heated argument at last week's TNA iMPACT! TV tapings in Orlando, FL. Styles was said to be upset with the way he was being booked by Russo in that it was portraying him as a weak champion and was also not a fan of the way Samoa Joe and Frankie Kazarian (Suicide) were being booked as well.

According to sources, Russo stood his ground and made mention that he was the person who made the call to put the title on Styles in the first place. We're told the argument was so heated that some people backstage had to step in. Things calmed down eventually when both Russo and Styles were spotted talking together shortly after the argument.

Chris Sabin Injured At iMPACT!

Chris Sabin had a scare at the TNA tapings tonight. While wrestling
Team 3D, Sabin took a bad bump on his neck while working with Brother Ray. It was described as a scary moment, but Sabin did walk out of the ring.

Reports out of Orlando are saying that Sabin is "OK" after his scare at the tapings. He did suffer a stinger and is very sore, but it is not considered a major injury.

Later in the show, while cutting a promo on the World Elite, Kevin Nash mentioned the injury. Nash reportedly said that he was glad TNA was a taped show, and then "tore down the company" for not stopping the match when Sabin was injured.

Fans were reportedly unhappy later in the show when the company ran an angle where someone was stretchered out of the ring. The angle was scripted before the injury to Sabin.

Booker T & TNA Part Ways

The latest on Booker T is that the company pulled the latest contract offer to Booker, and that when his current deal is up, he will be done with the company. Booker was not happy with the offer, and that is what led to the drama over the recent weeks, including his refusal to lose to Matt Morgan . That caused an entire TV taping to be re-written. The general feeling within TNA is 'good riddance' as he's been nothing but a major hassle for them in recent months.

What Led To Jeff Hardy's Drug Arrest

The story going around the WWE locker room regarding Jeff Hardy's explanation for his legal troubles is that he was arrested when police conducted a raid after a package was sent to his residence that had been flagged before it was delivered. Hardy brought the package inside his home and law enforcement were on the scene to conduct the raid.

As the story goes, Hardy was unaware of the package's contents, which was sent to him by an individual outside of North Carolina who had expressed interest in doing business with him.

The former WWE Superstar is said to be in much better spirits nowadays than he initially was following last month's arrest. He has told those close to him that he hired a top notch attorney. He also went from asking friends to pray for him (because he feared jail time) to believing he will face minimal punishment.

Hardy is scheduled to return to court next month.

A Funny Story

I was thinking back today when just sitting alone waiting for a phone call and I remembered the year that I got my drivers license. It took me three times to pass that test and when I finally did, well, I didn’t have a car to drive for several months. Not sure what made me think about that but in the process of thinking about that I also remembered when my sister got her license.

She came out of the courthouse so happy waving it in the air and then it happened, she got behind the wheel of the car, right after getting her license, and she back into a telephone pole! Thank God for car insurance!

WWE Bragging Rights pay-per-view lineup change

WWE has changed the Team Smackdown lineup for their match against Team Raw at the Bragging Rights pay-per-view. The match now features the following lineup...

Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Big Show, Cody Rhodes, Mark Henry, Jack Swagger, and Kofi Kingston vs. Chris Jericho, Kane, Matt Hardy, R-Truth, Finlay, David Hart-Smith, and Tyson Kid.

That means Cryme Tyme, Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, and Eric Escobar are out of the match, leaving only Jericho and Kane as the two remaining wrestlers from the original team.

Hulk Hogan Contemplated Suicide, Laila Ali Saved His Life

Hulk Hogan was promoting his new book My Life Outside the Ring in an interview with The New York Daily News. In the article, Hogan says that he considered taking his own life after downing rum and xanax, but that a phone call from Laila Ali prevented that. Hogan claims that he had the gun and his finger on the trigger when Ali called.

He also claims in the book that his ex-wife Linda was an abusive alcoholic that once threatened to beat Nick with a wine bottle.

Time To Choose That Ring

Well friends, it’s been over 5 months since I have been married to the most beautiful woman on the planet. I guess my only regret is that I have never gotten my wife an engagement ring. So in order to remedy that, I have been searching the stores and the Internet and I cam across a web page that carry some of the most beautiful rings that I’ve seen on my journey to find the right one.

A Bit Of "Days" On 30 Rock

Peter Reckell dropped a bit of news. He, along with his Days of our Lives co-star Kristian Alfonso, will make a guest appearance on 30 Rock. No word yet on what roles he and Alfonso will play or the air date

Furniture!

For those who regularly come to my page, you know that I have been talking a lot about redecorating and refurnishing my home lately in order to have it ready for my wife that will soon join me in the states from the Philippines.

Well in doing research on where to get the furniture I have thought a lot about what kind of furniture I would like to have in our home. I have been looking at Bathroom Vanities for her and Poker Tables for me, that kind of research friends. Well, I am thinking the bathroom vanity might be a priority over the poker table though.

So now the plan is to change out all of the furniture in our living room, game room, and of course we’ll make room for that vanity! Looking on the internet I have found so many different styles and I am telling you that making the decision isn’t the easiest decision I have ever had to make.

But I am sure that when my wife gets here she will have definite plans at how she will want to furnish our home, that’s one of the reasons that we chose the internet so that we both could have a say on the furniture that we will buy, and that it will be here before she will be, so that she can start decorating right away!

Update On Sale Of The NWA Title

Here is the latest on the sale of Ric Flair's NWA Title. As it turns out, Highspots.com may not be able to sell the belt because of a third party that has the rights to it. It turns out that Flair had previously used the title as collateral on another loan that has not been paid back. Flair and Matthews (North Carolina corporation Conbraco Industries, Inc) jointly filed a secured loan through a Universal Commercial Code (UCC) document. This document created a lien against Flair's property, which would prevent him from selling it off without first settling the debt with Conbraco. Conbraco contacted Highspots to inform them of their agreement with Flair, and that they could legally pursue any money raised from the sale of the belt to pay off Flair's debt. Highspots has removed the auction from their website.

The following items were listed as collateral in the agreement with Conbraco:

* Flair's NWA championship belt (specifically listed as original)
* Flair's WCW championship belt (specifically listed as replica)
* Flair's "wrestling robes, trunks, and boots"
* Flair's "Wrestling Hall of Fame ring"
* Flair's "Presidential Rolex, inscribed with "To Be The Man."
* Flair's "framed magazine covers, which include his likeness."
* A 4x3 autographed poster of Michael Jordan
* A 4x3 autographed poster of Vince McMahon and Flair.
* A framed, personalized Kevin Green jersey.
* Commercial claims arising from a previous lawsuit Flair was involved with.
* Additional "proceeds and products."

DAYS went up 112,000 total viewers as the troubled Dr. Carly Manning aka Katerina Von Leuschner-Alamain headed back to Salem the week of Oct. 5-9. DAYS is up an incredible 519,000 viewers year-to-date. The super soap went up one-tenth of a point in households and is up three-tenths of a point for the year in that demo. Among the coveted women 18-49 demographic, DAYS went up one-tenth of a ratings point and is also up year-to-date one-tenth of a point.

Peter Criss Media Appearances

Peter Criss will be on That Metal Show (October 20th) on VH1 Classic to discuss with Eddie Trunk overcoming breast cancer and what he's up to now. Peter was also invited to appear on 105.7 The Hawk (October 22nd) on "Beatles Day" to play and discuss Beatles music.

Lacey Von Erich TV Show?

A TV pilot was shot on October 2 for a new scripted reality-based show starring new TNA Knockout Lacey Von Erich. The idea was to shoot the pilot in hopes that it would get picked up by VH1. It was shot where she lives and also featured Shelly Martinez, Lizzy Valentine and Trenesha Biggers (aka former TNA Knockout Rhaka Khan). The concept is to do a show much like "The Hills" on MTV with Von Erich in the starring role and that it is reality based, but scripted. The pilot focused on the other girls being jealous that Von Erich got her new job and Biggers talked about living with Kurt Angle. Whether or not it will be picked up remains to be seen.

Top WWE Star Fails 14 Drug Tests & Brags About It

One main event WWE star has boasted to friends about failing for marijuana 14 times. This particular wrestler hasn't faced the same scrutiny from management as some of the mid-carders whose pushes were stopped due to repeated test failures. However, the fine for failing for pot was recently levied from $1,000 to $2,500 and it has him thinking twice.

The Connecticut Senate race is heating up as Connecticut Democrats are attacking Linda McMahon by using YouTube links to some of the questionable angles WWE ran during her time as CEO, including the Katie Vick angle, the Scott Steiner/Stephanie McMahon "rape" angle, and the Edge/Lita live sex celebration angle.

Here is what Connecticut Democrat spokeswoman Colleen Flanagan had to say:

"As WWE Chief Operating Officer, Linda McMahon presided over programming that showed simulated rape, public sex and necrophilia, and now she wants to be our U.S. Senator? People across this state, not to mention the millions of women who are the victims of sexual violence every year, would be horrified and embarrassed to know that the person who seeks to represent them condones this kind of behavior. That kind of programming has no place in our society, and Linda McMahon has no place in the U.S. Senate."

Linda McMahon's spokesperson, Ed Patru, responded with the following.

"Every American understands the difference between scripted TV entertainment and real life betrayal of trust by Washington politicians. With 15 million Americans out of work and a jobless rate in Connecticut approaching 10%, people want a Senator who knows how to fix the economy and put people back to work. Shane McMahon Resigns From WWE Effective January 1, 2010

Executive Vice President of Global Media Shane McMahon announced his resignation from WWE today, effective January 1, 2010.

In a press release, Shane stated, “It has been an incredible experience to help build WWE into a global phenomenon. However, having been associated with this organization for the majority of my life, I feel this is the opportune time in my career to pursue outside ventures.”

Vince McMahon admitted to being saddened by the announcement, however was proud of Shane's accomplishments.

Major Backstage Heat On Lacey Von Erich

Lacey Von Erich suffered a strained muscle in her right leg during a pre-show practice session last week and had the leg heavily wrapped.

As noted previously, the third generation wrestler has already rubbed many of her peers the wrong way. She has been described as "another Kerry Von Erich" from a mental standpoint, which means no common sense. Internally, she's been nicknamed "Rhaka Blonde." One person said she has no positive qualities for the industry other than her physical appearance as she fits in well with the presentation of "The Beautiful People." Another person called her "harmless" as her antics have made for good fodder throughout the company.

Many noted that there must be a warning sign if World Wrestling Entertainment would cut someone who looked as gorgeous as her, although the company has done well picking up their scraps. Among those mentioned include Angelina Love and Taylor Wilde, as well as Awesome Kong and ODB, who both tried to join WWE at one point, but felt they had no potential because they didn't fit into the cookie cutter look they believe all women's wrestlers should have.

Rob Van Dam To Attend Bound For Glory

Rob Van Dam appeared on the Between The Ropes radio show this past week and when asked about rumors of him attending TNA's Bound For Glory pay-per-view this Sunday considering it's taking place in his hometown area, he confirmed he would be there. Ric Flair Reveals McMahon's Reaction To Coming Out Of Retirement

Ric Flair appeared on "Busted Open" on Sirius radio on Tuesday and revealed what Vince McMahon was to him coming out of retirement and wrestling overseas.

"I told Vince McMahon about three months ago that I wanted to back and work and that I'd just work overseas. He said, 'You know, go for it."

There is nothing quite as relaxing and at the same time as frustrating as a friendly game of poker. Sitting around the kitchen table with a slew of friends making jokes, talking about their problems and taking each other’s money!

Excerpts From Hulk Hogan’s New Book

On the after-effects of steroids: "The only aggressiveness those shots and pills ever laid on me was a powerful desire to lift weights and eat. Maybe it gave me some sort of 'Mat Mania," where I was more pumped up than the next guy about getting back into the ring to wrestle. I'll certainly admit I was addicted to that high of being in the ring. But that's about it. Taking testosterone made a lot of guys super horny, where they were chasing girls every night of the week. Not me. Others were rendered completely useless in the bedroom, and that wasn't me either. The worst thing I can say about steroids is they made me sweat a lot, which could be kind of embarrassing. They would occasionally give me killer acne--like I'd get a monster zit on my ass, the kind that's so tight you felt like you could bend over and shoot it across the room: 'Hey, catch this!' "

On meeting Sylvester Stallone when auditioning for Rocky III: "Stallone and I met at a gym. I had blue jeans on and cowboy boots, and my nose was all taped up--it got smashed in a match in Japan and I hadn't had a chance to fix it yet. I wasn't prepared at all for some kind of audition. But Stallone insisted: 'I want to see how you move in the ring.' So Stallone starts doing his Rocky thing and starts reaching out to try to punch me. 'What do you want me to do?' I asked. 'Well, see if you can stop me,' he said. 'Stop you?' I laughed out loud. He was maybe 170 pounds, and I was pushing 320 at that point. But he stayed pretty serious about it. 'When I try to punch you, see if you can get a hold of me,' he said. So in one move I grabbed him and hooked him and pinned him to the canvas.'

On a serious knee injury during Hulkamania in 1984: "But the closest I came to a career-ender was right when Hulkamania first took off--on the night I won the belt from the Iron Sheik in 1984. The stakes were so high that night, every move I made was over the top. Halfway through the match I jumped up in the air real high and dropped a knee in the Iron Sheik's chest. Even when the mat is perfectly flat, it hurts. But that night there was a board in the ring that was out of place. The edge of that board was sticking up into the canvas--and that's exactly where my left knee landed. I exploded my knee cap. Here I was at Madison Square Garden, knowing I was going to win the world title. There's no way I wasn't going to finish that match. It was the ultimate high, being in that ring, so I just pushed through the pain. A few minutes later, when I couldn't take it anymore, I started Hulking Up--I hadn't really perfected that whole thing yet, but I had to do something to end that match quick. So I rallied my strength for everyone to see, and got ready for the finish, and I pulled the crowd right with me. With that kneecap totally blown, I laid the Leg Drop on the Sheik, and 'One...Two...Three!' I won the title."

Captain Lou Albano Passes Away

Legendary wrestler and manager Captain Lou Albano has passed away. He was 76 years old. Albano had fallen ill and was under hospice care. Former WWE Diva Torrie Wilson Hospitalized Last Night

Former WWE diva and reality television star Torrie Wilson was hospitalized this week, according to messages on her Facebook page. Wilson posted a message early this morning:

"Big scare for me tonight!!! I was in the emergency room, Though i was heading up to heaven for a minute there... like I put on my Twitter page earlier, thanks for letting me stay a bit longer Jesus!"

She then elaborated on what it was that sent her to the hospital:

"Bad reaction to some meds and I just got really sick all of the sudden!!! I'm feeling much better now, but it was a big scare! Gonna get some rest tonight for sure!"

Getting Ready For Her Arrival

Well the time is getting closer friends that my wife will be here to live with me. As many of you know she is native of the Philippines and we got married this past May and now we are waiting for the red tape to be gotten through in order for her to join me here in the states.

Well, I have been trying to spruce the place up a bit for her arrival and I have decided today that we need a new entertainment center. Now the first step is to find a place that has entertainment centers that are of good quality and affordable price.

Step two is to decide between and entertainment center, tv consoles, or tv lift consoles. Tough decision, yes, but It is a fun decision because our living room as many others revolves around the television.

Doing A Diet Right!

Well friends, I have gone on a diet recently since I have visited the doctor who told me that my blood pressure was high and that I would nee to go on blood pressure pills. Well, so far so good, I’ve lost a few pounds just by doing the basic things that a diet requires, but I need to lose more weight so I did some searching on the internet and I found Diet Direct.

Getting My Yoyo At The Yoyo Shop!

You know something friends, I was thinking the other day about when I was a child and the things I used to do, so as always I made use of the internet and looked some of those things up. I went to a search engine and typed in yoyos and I came across a website that has some of the coolest yoyos.

At yoyo shop they even sell the yoyos by skill levels, and they are of course; beginner, intermediate, and pro, which are you? Me? I am definitely a beginner since I haven’t picked up a yoyo in years.

Now I try not to make this blog too political but it seems that someone needs to spread a little truth and I try doing that by putting out quotes from some great men trying to look out for all for us.

Well media, it's time to expose some other people's mistakes. I wonder if you will.

George Bush is no longer in office and Obama's policy on the war in Afghanistan seems to be vacillating. He has talked to his commanding general in Afghanistan face to face two times in the last couple of months.

Does that make sense?

He refuses to give an answer as to whether he will send more troops or will not send more troops and this attitude creates two huge problems.

1. It looks as if the President does not fully back the troops and what they're doing which has to create morale problems in the field.

2. It makes the President look as if he has no idea what he is doing.

In my opinion both of these things could well be true. I'm not at all sure that Barack Hussein Obama is comfortable fighting a war against Muslims and from what I've seen so far it appears to me that he is simply overwhelmed by the job and can't make the important decisions concerning the fighting of either war.

Lately I have had people in my ear wondering when my wife and I will be having children. Now friends, I love children but I’m not sure how ready I am to be a father. So in order to check my readiness, I do as I always do and look for relevant to this situation.

I have a lot of nephews and nieces and I know how to be a great uncle. I give them money or buy them gifts and such. Another RAW Guest Host Revealed?

This morning Saturday Night Live cast member Andy Samberg appeared on 97 Rock's Norton in the Morning Show out of Buffalo, New York to talk about his upcoming comedy show called Andy and Friends. When one of the hosts asked him if he had any other upcoming projects he said he had been contacted to host an upcoming RAW episode in October emanating from Buffalo. RAW is scheduled for Buffalo on the 26'th later this month. After the hosts joked with him asking if he had to wear tights to get that gig Samberg laughed it off and said no but he would be debuting a new Digital Short he's been working on for RAW starring some of the WWE Superstars.
