Kurt Angle Headed To The Olympics?

You can't make this stuff up guys - Kurt Angle says that he's considering another try at the Olympic games and he's dead serious

"It's not just this old man trying to lash out to get publicity," Angle told WTAE Channel 4 Action News on Friday. "It's about really making the team and making a point that, you know what, the 40s is not old. It's the new young. I feel really good at 42, and I might be making a statement that him and I are going to start training for the Olympics and go after the U.S. Open, the Olympic team trials, and then the Olympics," Angle said.

"Everyone asks me, 'How can you do all of these things?' And I always tell them I'll rest when I die," Angle said. "I don't rest very much. I like to do things, I like to accomplish things, and I have a passion for everything that I do, including pro wrestling, and I miss the Olympic wrestling."

"But if we're going to make this (Olympic) commitment, we're going to do it, and it starts in August," he said.

Bob's Opinion: I'm interested to see if he still has what it takes and if he can compete with kids half his age.

The Rock To Star In New Country Music Biopic

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is set to star in a biopic of black country music star Charley Pride.

Johnson will also be producing the film, joining Dany Garcia, Randy Jackson and Pride's manager John Daines.

Pride is a Country Music Hall of Famer and charted more than three dozen No. 1 singles and has sold more than 70 million records.

Bob's Opinion: Now we can see what kind of an actor The Rock really is

The Undertaker Backstage At RAW

The Undertaker traveled with wife Michelle McCool to this week's Monday Night RAW taping in Raleigh, North Carolina, but was not used.

Company sources say he's still got nagging injuries and were given no indication as to when he would be returning to television.

Bob's Opinion: the reason he was not drafted earlier this week is simply because he's not ready to return and will be coming to RAW anyways once he's ready.

Jim Ross' WWE Future

Current plans call for Jim Ross to remain on WWE programming throughout the duration of Michael Cole's ongoing storyline. His segments have performed strong quarter-hour numbers, which could factor into the company's decision to keep him on television.

Also note, there are no plans for Ross to permanently return to announcing. Of course, things could change but as of now it won't be happening.

Bob's Opinion: talk about your waste of talent, Jim Ross is one of the greatest commentators that ever called a match and of course Vince in his infinite wisdom doesn't use him.

Hulk Hogan Interested In Goldberg To TNA

Hulk Hogan was asked on Twitter if he would like to bring Bill Goldberg to TNA Wrestling. "Bill Goldberg would blow the roof off the place," he replied.

Bob's Opinion: For what it's worth, don't expect Goldberg in TNA anytime soon.

Karen Jarrett-TNA Sexual Harassment Lawsuit?

The Honky Tonk Man claimed on his weekly podcast on Monday (audio available at htmradio.com) that Karen Jarrett (formerly Angle) is the alleged victim of a sexual harassment lawsuit against TNA Wrestling.

The former WWE Intercontinental Champion says Karen was sexually harassed by TNA Wrestling president Dixie Carter's husband Serge Salinas.

He says a settlement was reached and that "part of the deal" involved Karen being given her job back with TNA Wrestling. He claims Carter was removed from television earlier this year due to the lawsuit.

The Honky Tonk Man tweeted Monday: "Anyone who missed HTM's announcement on TNA tonight. Karen Angle vs Dixie Carter's husband is the sexual harassment lawsuit going down! That's why Dixie is off TV and Karen is now back with the company as part of the settlement."

Bob's Opinion: Keep in mind the sourse of this news (HTM) and please take it with a grain of salt as he does tend to go on and is wrong alot of the time

Y2J Teases Extreme Rules Return

Chris Jericho, who was eliminated Tuesday night from Dancing with the Stars, teased a possible appearance at this Sunday's WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view event—which takes place in Tampa, Florida.

He wrote on Twitter, "For the first time in 8 weeks I dont have dance rehearsals. What am I going to do with myself now? Anythin goin on in Tampa this weekend...?"

Jim Ross, who is competing at the event, asked Jericho, "Ever been in a Country Whippin Match? I need a coach or a stunt double. Interested?"

He replied, "No but I have been in a barb wire match, a penalty box match and everything in between. I'll do it! Plus I even have my own Stetson."

Bob's Opinion: For what it's worth, almost everyone expects Jericho back in WWE in the near future. Chris did an interview several weeks ago where he basically confirmed he'd be returning once Dancing with the Stars was over. It's possible he may be tied down with the show until everyone is eliminated which means he may not be able to return to WWE just yet.

Sexual Harassment Lawsuit Filed Against TNA

Randy Ricci, a former production manager for TNA Wrestling, reports that a sexual harassment lawsuit has been filed against the organization.

While specifics of the case have yet to be disclosed, Ricci states that Terry Taylor, TNA's Director of Talent Relations, was named in the suit.

Ricci added, "It should be noted as well that if Terry has done anything or not, with his past, it won't turn out well for he or the company."

Bob's Opinion: More as I get it

Jim Ross Blogs On His Feud With Michael Cole & Sunday’s Country Whipping Match

here are the highlights…

Good to be back in Oklahoma. Typing this blog is tedious as my right hand is not wanting to cooperate. Nonetheless, the grill is hot so let's get started.

Hopefully, Cole and I did not overly offend too many of you wrestling purists with our 'exhibition' Monday night. It earned the top quarter hour TV rating on the program for the night and that distinction has already been throughly analyzed by those who earn a living covering the genre. Lots of ways for that data to be dissected one can argue.

Either one was entertained by that particular piece of business or they weren't. I do know that no one involved in the presentation 'phoned' in their contribution.

My right hand is somewhat banged up and the x-rays were not overly encouraging Tuesday but it won't keep me from doing what I need to do on Sunday at Extreme Rules.

Cole's tooth went to the bone on a knuckle on my right hand which caused bleeding from my hand and his lip for those that have asked. Apparently the risk of infection from a human tooth IE a bite or something like what occurred Monday night is potentially harmful so we've been very careful with the infection aspect of the 'wound' in addition to caring for a sore hand.

I've been in one Country Whipping' match in my dubious 'wrestling' career which was years ago on Raw against the Coach. Those are inherently painful encounters as the leather strap cares not who it strikes or the results of such lashings. Sunday on PPV won't be a fun day at the office in all likelihood.

Bob's Opinion: No offense to JR, but I would rather of had the payoff of The King beating down Cole in a singles bout. This angle should have played out with Lawler beating up Cole at Wrestlemania and then it should have been over. To see Jerry and JR get their asses handed to them week after week is getting very old and very boring.

Cody Rhodes Discusses Rey Mysterio, His Face Mask, More

- Cody Rhodes recently spoke with Marvel.com, here are the highlights…

On Mysterio Dressing As Captain America For WM: For the most part, it was a complete surprise. I know he'd mentioned to some people that he had intentions of dressing up in comic book form this year and I had a lot of assumptions about who it could be, but I didn't know he'd be Cap or that the costume would be so close. From the wings on the hood to the way he entered, he gave it the full on Captain America—or maybe Captain Mexico, if you look at the treatment on his chest. I've seen Rey in many costumes over the years, so I think it's cool that all these years later I'm wrestling Captain America.

On His WM Ring Gear: Yeah, my jacket was supposed to be more Mister Sinister themed, but as the designer got to work on it, it became more "Assassin's Creed" themed, which was also fine by me. At one point there was this huge diamond in the waistband but it was too much, a bit too close to the Sinister vibe. We could never get the jewel to work, but the diamond is still there in rough leather form if you look closely.

On His Mask: Well, here's a little known fact, because in the world of entertainment things do get misconstrued: one thing that legitimately happened was my broken nose. It was a horrible thing that ended up being a great thing in terms of my career. I had an idea where I wanted to take it but I looked online and saw Rip Hamilton, from the Detroit Pistons. He had the exact mask I wanted—I even went to the same doctor who molded his and had it cast to my face, allowing you to still see my face without obscuring my features. It actually was much more clear when I started but WWE fogged it up a bit, which makes it look cool especially when the lights bounce off.

Bob's Opinion: Not a real fan of Cody, But I have to say he has come a long way in a short time. His talent is definitely beginning to shine through

John Cena Filming At SD! Last Night

After last night's WWE SmackDown! taping in Greensboro, NC, they shot footage for the Nickelodeon movie Fred the Movie 2. The film will feature John Cena, teaming with his "son Fred" to face to bullies. Cena and Fred came out to a specially edited Titantron featuring scenes from Fred's first movie while the bullies came out to Gangrel's old theme music.

They used stunt doubles for the kids, and did several takes. The kids in attendance really loved watching the filming process. When they were finished filming the scenes, Cena noted on the mic that the film would be released in October and he thanked everyone for sticking with them through a long night, joking they had to sit through Alberto Del Rio and Sheamus. Sheamus then came to the ring and Cena hit the attitude adjustment to end the show.

Bob's Opinion: John Cena is definitely a good role model for the younger wrestling fan, can't understand why he gets booed by some, but that's their opinion I guess

Extreme Rules Match **SPOILER**

Layla vs. Michelle McCool - No DQ, No Countout, Loser Leaves SmackDown! match has been announced for the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view this Sunday night

Bob's Opinion: WWE loves to break up any tagteam that works

John Cena Nearly Stayed On SD

John Cena was drafted to SmackDown! with the first overall pick in the 2011 WWE Draft only to end up drafted back to RAW with the final draft pick of the night. Through Sunday night, there was discussion of permanently moving Cena to SmackDown! with the belief that Randy Orton was a hot enough babyface to carry RAW on his own. Ultimately though, Orton was moved to SmackDown! with Cena staying on RAW.

Bob's Opinion: Would have been nice to have seen what the rating for Smackdown would have been with both superstars there

The Undertaker Headed To RAW

It was reported yesterday that WWE officials discussed moving The Undertaker to RAW to make up for a top babyface character being transferred to SmackDown! during the 2011 WWE Draft.

While the draft came and went without "The Deadman" changing brands, company sources indicate he'll join RAW upon his return to television.

Bob's opinion: interesting, although 'taker doesn't make any appearances anyway

Major WWE Name Considering Leaving The Company

- CM Punk has been offered a new long-term WWE contract, but at this time he has not signed and could be leaving the company when his current contract expire sin a few months. There has been talk about the possibility for some time, but during the European tour, discussion of Punk's exit heated up. As mentioned, Punk has not signed the new offer, citing "burnout with being on the road for years and unhappiness with his position in the company over the last year." A WWE office source had the following to say on the situation…

"When you look at how the company brands it's characters, Punk is never among the top 5-8 names that are promoted or pushed. It's Cena, Orton, Miz, Undertaker, Rey, now Alberto, etc. these days and Punk is sort of floating right under there. He didn't fit into the youth drive a few months back but he's not treated like a top veteran either. He's just there, doing his job and while everyone knows he delivers, he's never really treated like someone who does. He's never dropped the ball but we don't give it to him really, either. He's treated like a guy, but not THE guy. For a driven guy like him who's made wrestling his entire world, it's got to drive him crazy. Now, the excuse will be don't push Punk because he might be leaving, but the reality is the environment and situation is what is probably making him want to leave to begin with. Either it gets fixed or it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, just like it did when Batista walked out."

Bob's Opinion: Call me crazy but I thought Punk's position in the company was pretty high, but I guess I could be wrong

The Latest Scott Hall

According to Scott Hall's ex-wife Dana, Hall is in very rough shape again this weekend. She is talking like he may drink himself to death and has basically 'given up' on trying to help as it just doesn't work every time she tries.

Bob's Opinion: Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers, that's pretty much all anyone can do at this point.

Argentina Rocca & Terry Gordy

-- Today would have been the 88th birthday of the late Argentina Rocca. Rocca was one of the ten biggest drawing cards in the history of pro wrestling.

Bob's Opinion: May they rest in peace

Steve Austin's Next Project

Jim Ross said on his Twitter account that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is working on a new action-adventure movie. He said that Austin said the script was "great".

Bob's Opinion: Steve Austin's movies and acting ability is greatly underrated.

JR Clears Up A Ric Flair Rumor

Jim Ross cleared up a recent rumor about Ric Flair getting shoulder surgery on his Twitter. Ross said, "While @ the gym yesterday got a text from 'Naitch' who was checking on my 'wrestling' status. BTW Ric has a horrid shoulder but no surgery."

Joey Styles Retracts Twitter Statement

Joey Styles took a step back from his Twitter post yesterday about his over-consumption to celebrate Earth Day and posted the following: "Seriously, I recycle, conserve energy of every kind and care about the well being of our planet and all of its inhabitants. Happy Earth Day."

Bob's Opinion: Doesn't surprise me really, if you work for the WWE you can't have a mind or thought of your own....because they will see that you change anything that they don't like!

Something New

Well my wife and I have decided to go all out this year when we go to spruce up our home. We are in talks with each other about what we will do with our living room. My wife for instance, wants hardwood floors and I would prefer to have carpeting, as I love to lie on the floor and watch television.

But as always, I tend to do what my wife wants in order to make her happy, because if she is happy then so am I! After all friends, she is carrying my baby, and anyone that would be willing to go through everything that pregnancy puts a woman through just to have my baby, can have what she wants.

So my first step was to check on
Hardwood floor installation cost and the time it would take to install it in our home. I made a few calls and believe it or not it is a lot more reasonably priced then one would imagine it to be. So the decision has been made and in the not so distant future there will be people in my home that will install a brand new look for my wife and I. I am really excited about this!

The Rock On RAW Next Week?

Jonathan Coachman has contacted The Rock and said that he may be at RAW next Monday.

Bob's Opinion: better get back soon Rock, you only have a year to build up your match with Cena....ridiculous

Joey Styles Proves He's Politically Incorrect

Joey Styles tweeted the following today: My Earth Day breakfast: eagle eggs and baby seal sausage eaten with utensils carved from elephant tusks. Tree huggers, send hate tweets :) Just like Original ECW, I'm politically incorrect and damn proud of it! Celebrating Earth Day with all lights on and all faucets running :) Both SUVs are running in the driveway and the heat is on maximum with all the windows open. Happy Earth Day!

Bob's Opinion: I knew there was something I liked about Joey. Think about it folks, putting "earth Day" on Good Friday is like celebrating the creationinstead of the Creator!

Kevin Nash Spends Night In Hospital W/ Scott Hall

Kevin Nash posted the following update on Scott Hall…

Jay Lethal, who was released Wednesday by TNA Wrestling, commented on his departure from the organization on Twitter.

"While I am sad that my time with TNA has ended, I am looking forward to this next chapter of my career. Oooooh yeahh! Now taking booking."

Bob's Opinion: Just when you thought TNA finally got it, they do something stupid like this!

Natalya: "My thoughts are with Edge, and thank you so much for the wonderful memories. You're a real, true friend and ill never forget it."

Bob's Opinion: What else could I add?

Updated WWE Extreme Rules Card

Below is the current card for WWE's Extreme Rules pay-per-view event following RAW: Triple Threat Match for the WWE Championship: The Miz (c) vs. John Cena vs. R-Truth Ladder Match for the World Heavyweight Championship: Edge (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio Tag Team Match: Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross vs. Michael Cole and Jack Swagger The World Heavyweight Championship Match is still advertised for the event after Edge announced his retirement on RAW. This will likely change at the SD! tapings tonight in Albany, NY Bob's Opinion: wish the Lawler match was a singles match though

Is The Edge Retirement Real?

During this week's WWE RAW telecast in Bridgeport, CT, current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Edge announced that he was retiring from pro wrestling and WWE. For those wondering, this is not a work and is 100% the real deal. This was the talk backstage at RAW during the evening hours. Edge has been losing feeling in his arms and was advised by doctors to retire from in-ring action. According to a source, Edge underwent some medical tests recently and they came back within the last few days revealing that there were some new issues with his neck. He was then advised to retire. WWE creative basically gave him an open mic and told him to go out to the ring and deliver his retirement speech the way he wanted. Almost none of what you saw was scripted. Edge will appear on this week's SmackDown! from Albany, NY to relinquish the World title.

Bob's Opinion: Thank you Edge, for all of the memories that you gave us through all of your hard work.

WWE Statement: Edge Retires From WWE

Here is WWE's official statement on Edge retiring from WWE:

"Less than a week after his successful title defense against Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania XXVII, World Heavyweight Champion Edge has been forced to retire from in-ring competition due to injury. The unexpected news brings to an end a storied WWE career spanning 13 years and consisting of 11 World Title reigns. The Rated-R Superstar had been suffering numbness and uncontrollable trembling in his arms and hands. This is not the first time Edge has experienced these symptoms of nueropraxia. An MRI in Atlanta last Monday was sent to Dr. Joseph Maroon, a renowned neurosurgeon and professor of neurosurgery at The Pittsburgh School of Medicine. After careful examination of the MRI, it was determined that Edge would never be cleared to compete again, and thus, he is forced to retire. In 2003, Edge underwent a two level spinal fusion of the discs between his C5, C6 and C7 vertebrae. After being cleared to compete, The Rated-R Superstar returned to the ring, resulting in stenosis of the spine, or a narrowing of the spinal column, above and below the fused discs. This narrowing resulted in less and less of the vital fluid needed to protect the spinal cord. Medical professionals cannot clear Edge to compete ever again in WWE since doing so could result in paralysis or even death."

Bob's Opinion: I'm sorry to see him go, as he was and is one of the most talented to ever step into the ring. But, it is a good thing that doctors caught this before anything terrible happened to him

Superstar Billy Graham Wants Out Of WWE Hall of Fame

Superstar Billy Graham had an interview with SLAM! Wrestling where he said that not only does he want out of the WWE Hall of Fame, but he wants to fight Chris Jericho, based on comments Jericho made in his book insulting Graham for his comments about Chris Benoit. On WWE Hall of Fame: "For the WWE to induct into their Hall of Fame, Abdullah The Butcher, who has never wrestled one match under a WWE contract, is bordering on blasphemy. I am demanding that this company remove my name from their index of Hall of Fame wrestlers. It is a shameless organization to induct a bloodthirsty animal such as Abdullah The Butcher into their worthless and embarrassing Hall of Fame and I want the name of Superstar Billy Graham to be no part of it. The WWE and their Hall of Fame is disgustingly embarrassing, I want out." On Chris Jericho: "Jericho, that shows your complete lack of respect. You have the face of a choirboy, but you've got the heart of a devil. One day, someone will walk across your skull on the floor of hell. That's exactly where you belong. I'm a music fan, a fan of Bob Dylan. The lyrics to one of his songs, Idiot Wind, fits you perfectly, Jericho. 'Idiot wind blowing every time you move your teeth. You're an idiot (babe). It's a wonder that you still know how to breathe'. I know what I'm talking about when it comes to steroids. Unfortunately, I'm an expert. I started using in 1966. I told NBC News that the Benoit murder-suicide was not as a result of steroids. I responded to a man choking an innocent seven-year-old boy to death, then murdering his wife. It was the slaughter of an innocent child and steroids had nothing to do with it. The press connected it to steroids and I had an obligation to speak out. For speaking out, Jericho called me self-centered and egotistical, only wanting to benefit myself. I received a personal phone call from Linda McMahon thanking me for stepping it up and telling it like it is. Jericho, you have made a huge mistake. You call me an egotistical idiot. If you walked by right now, I would beat the living hell out of you, then spit on your grave for trying to destroy my reputation in your phony little book." To this Jericho responded: "God bless him and best of luck in all he does in the future."

Bob's Opinion: I think Graham is taking this all a bit far, to say the least. I do agree that the WWE HOF is a joke, but not because Abby was inducted, but because it's all about making money and not really honoring those inducted.

WWE To Hold TV Tapings In Mexico - First Time Ever

WWE returns to Mexico for their house show tour next month, and it's expected they will announce TV tapings in Mexico City for October. The tapings would happen at Palacio de Los Deportes, and both Raw and Smackdown would be taped in advance over a weekend.

Bob's Opinion: Should be interesting as to how Mexican fans react to the WWE style

Sting Speaks Out - Jeff Hardy Incident, Issues & More

Sting recently spoke with The Daily Star about the finish of his Victory Road match against Jeff Hardy. The match was cut short due to Hardy not being in the condition to perform.

On Jeff Hardy: "I don't want to do anything to harm him. He has personal issues, everyone knows that. But some things are true and some are not. What is true is that it all came to a head that week and hit really big that night. I hated what happened because I wanted to give fans a great match. But I realize it had to happen the way it did." After the match: "After all was said and done I came to the back and made sure he was OK. He is OK and he's been talking to people close to him a lot."

Bob's Opinion: Classy answer to a hard question I am sure.

Scott Hall Update - Police Called Last Night

It was reported earlier this week that former WWE talent Scott Hall was hospitalized following a drug overdose. Geena Jinev Anac, Hall's publicist, issued a press release Thursday disputing the report. It read: "I just spoke to Scott, he is at home, doing fine in Orlando FL. "Late last night Scott was at the hospital due to extremely low blood pressure & his doctor changed his blood pressure medication. Scott never overdosed last night, he is still recovering from last summer's double pneumonia & is being treated for heart. Scott regularly visits the hospital for blood work & checkups." "All these rumors on the media are completely untrue & fabricated. Scott is thankful to all his fans for their continuous support through thick and thin and looking forward in his future appearances throughout the states." According to a report on WrestlingNewsWorld.com, Hall ordered that his publicist adamantly deny he was rushed to the hospital after overdosing on prescription medication earlier this week. The report said that Hall is said to be very sensitive about being labeled a drug addict, albeit not so much an alcoholic. Sources close to the professional wrestler say he has "major problems" with prescription medication and that it was not the first time he had overdosed. The report noted that Hall is furious about word of the incident getting out because he feels it could cost him work. He has financial issues and didn't want to lose his scheduled booking for an independent wrestling show in Fall River, Massachusetts last night. Top Rope Promotions, the event's coordinators, say Hall showed up to the building in the afternoon intoxicated and behaved in a belligerent manner. Hall took part in an autograph signing a short while later and fell asleep at one point. When he was awake, his signature consisted of a line, rather than his name. Hall was allowed to work the live show, while still intoxicated. He could barely stand as two people assisted him to the ringside area. Based on comments Hall made to the live crowd, he thought he was in England, as opposed to New England. Following the conclusion of his segment, Hall became belligerent and refused to leave the ring. Police came and escorted him from the premise. Bob's Opinion: I really don't know what to say, that hasn't already been said

Another Very Disturbing Scott Hall Video

Here is another video of Scott Hall arriving at the Top Rope Promotions indy event last night

Bob's Opinion: Scott better get it together soon, he doesn't appear to have too much time left on the path he is taking

Ex-WWE Talent Tweets On Scott Hall's Condition

Ex-WWE talent Scotty 2 Hotty was also at the event and followed up with the following: "Just witnessed the saddest, most embarrassing thing in my career!!!! How many guys have to die before some guys learn?"

Bob's Opinion: AMEN!!

Disturbing Videos Of Scott Hall Last Night

Here are two videos of Scott Hall at last night's indy event in Fall River. I will warn you that these are very tough to watch guys.

Bob's Opinion: Get well soon Scott

Update On Jeff Hardy

There has been no discussion internally about Jeff Hardy, as it has been said that he has "dropped off the internal radar." According to sources, the last time someone dropped off like this was Jeff Jarrett, back when he was on hiatus from the company, due to the heat between he and Kurt Angle.

Bob's Opinion: if everything that has been reported is true, then Hardy should be dropped by TNA until he can get his act together

WWE Animated Serious In The Works?

WWE is considering building some animated projects around Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara. A few years ago, WWE had a Mysterio project in development that ended up being dropped. While the project is in very early development, there has been discussion of using the look of the Mattel Rumblers action figures in some form of animated project

Bob's Opinion: Are we going back to the Hulk Hogan era?

Update on the Future of WWE Superstars

WWE Superstars aired its final episode on WGN America last night. The WWE will continue to tape the TV series to fulfill international contracts, and it will also be available via YouTube. At this time, there are no plans to change the content of the series.

Bob's Opinion: I can honestly say that I have never watched superstars, I found it waste of my time, I watched TNA instead, gotta love TNA!

My Apologies

Bob's Opinion: my apologies for recent posts being jumbled together the way they are, I type them out in paragraphs, but when I post it, well you've seen the end results. Hope to fix this problem soon, oh and dont forget to leavecomments!

The Rock & Shawn Michaels Cross Paths At WrestleMania

It's worth noting that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Shawn Michaels, who long harbored animosity towards each other, crossed paths during WrestleMania weekend. WWE.com published a photo (link) of Johnson and Michaels sharing a laugh shortly after HBK had appeared on stage at WrestleMania XXVII to commemorate his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. According to a source, their past animosity was actually settled in 2008 when Johnson inducted his father, Rocky Johnson, and grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia, into the WWE Hall of Fame. Johnson's issues with Michaels dated back to when he was a teenager. He long harbored animosity towards Michaels because he felt he was disrespectful to his maternal grandmother (Lia Maivia) at a wrestling show she was coordinating for Polynesian Pacific Pro Wrestling. His disrespect towards her incensed Johnson, and nearly led to an altercation. Their issues persisted several years later when Johnson was a rookie starting out in WWE. Bret Hart wrote in his 2007 autobiography, Hitman: My Real Life in the Cartoon World of Wrestling, that Michaels and Triple H disliked Johnson "intensely." Both resented him because he was talented and Hart, a political foe, had taken a shine to him. Many believe they were out to sabotage Johnson so that Hunter would ascend to the top before him, since they were both viewed as the future of the company at the time. Michaels and Hunter conspired to obstruct Johnson's push in March 1997, who was the Intercontinental Champion at the time. Michaels suggested to Vince McMahon that Johnson lose the title to Hart on an episode of RAW. Meanwhile, Hunter insisted to Hart that he beat Johnson. Their suggestion would serve two purposes — sabotage Johnson's push and take Hart out of the world title scene. Hart, however, refused to beat Johnson. Hart felt it wouldn't build heat for his newly launched heel turn, not to mention that it would undermine Johnson. Instead, Hart insisted on a DQ finish, which infuriated Michaels and Hunter. By 1999, Johnson had ascended to the top of WWE, going beyond nearly every wrestler, including Hunter. Meanwhile, a back injury had forced Michaels to retire and he was relegated to sporadic appearances. Nonetheless, Michaels attempted to politically undermine Johnson by lobbying to McMahon that he be replaced by Hunter in the main event at WrestleMania XV. His suggestion fell on deaf ears. Johnson stated years later in a 2005 interview with WWE.com that he never had interest in working with Michaels — when asked if he would have liked to. Bob's Opinion: the backstage politics are ridiculous, if you have the talent you're gonne rise to the top.

Scott Hall Hospitalized - Drug Overdose

Former WWE and TNA talent Scott Hall has been hospitalized following a drug overdose. No further details are available at this time. The former Intercontinental Champion has been battling serious health issues over the past year. He was hospitalized last June for double pneumonia, which had affected both lungs. He was hospitalized again in August due to complications from pneumonia. After recovering, Hall checked into a WWE-sponsored rehabilitation facility, and checked out in early October. Hall was hospitalized weeks later as he needed a pacemaker implanted into his heart. Hall claimed last week he would not be on hand for the WrestleMania XXVII festivities in Atlanta, Georgia because the atmosphere would be detrimental to his quest to stay sober. He posted his last Twitter message Sunday night while watching WrestleMania XXVII, writing "Taker wins!" Bob's Opinion: My prayers go out for Scott

WWE Fines The Undertaker And Triple H

The WWE announced on their corporate website at corporate.wwe.com that Triple H and The Undertaker were fined for a chair shot to the head in their match this past Sunday at WrestleMania XXVII. Here is the announcement from their site:

Pursuant to WWE's Concussion policy, the stunt of using a folded metal chair shot to the head is prohibited. Triple H and The Undertaker have both been fined for violating this policy at WrestleMania XXVII. WWE penalizes through fine and/or suspension for violation of this policy, which is unchanged and still in effect.

Bob's opinion: how ridiculous is this? I mean, I agree that no one should be taking chair shots to the head, but to fine the only two wrestlers that put out a great match for Wrestlemania is nuts

Major Backstage RAW News & Original Plans - Rewritten

-- Monday night's RAW was heavily rewritten at the last minute. The plan in the early afternoon was to have Triple H vs. Undertaker take place at SummerSlam with Taker vs. Cena taking place at WrestleMania 28. Obviously, that has changed. Some people believe that the long-term plan has always been to build WrestleMania 28 around The Rock, even if not in a wrestling capacity. Some also believe this is why Miami was chosen as the pay-per-view location. -- Vince McMahon was reportedly going crazy all weekend changing match orders and the like for WrestleMania. This happens all the time but this weekend he changed his mind on what seemed to be an hourly basis. -- Having Jim Ross call RAW Monday night was a last-minute decision. Ross noted earlier via Twitter that he wasn't notified about calling RAW until nearly 6EST. This appears to be a one-time deal. Bob's Opinion: Again, it's a shame that a man with the talent of Jim Ross is not being used in order that Michael Cole can sit at the desk

Sunny Comments On HOF TV Snub, Lashes Out At Critics

Sunny's induction into the WWE Hall of Fame was nixed from last night's broadcast on the USA Network in favor of Drew Carey's since a promotional deal is in place to push his new series on GSN. It was done in spite of her induction speech being advertised for the telecast the previous week on Monday Night RAW. "The Original Diva" commented on being snubbed from the television broadcast, writing on Facebook: "Well, even though I was told by many, including office staff, that I had the best speech of the night, I was still bumped in favor of a game show host who was booed all night....hmmm, oh well." She also responded to those criticizing her induction into the WWE Hall of Fame on various Internet forums. "When all the other divas come up to me and say "Thank you for paving the way, you are the reason we all have jobs", it really means something. "To be appreciated by my peers means so much more than what some dude who lives in his Mom's basement and writes his opinions for an internet website has to say about me and my induction... you all can kiss my Hall of Fame bootie!!" She added, "I would appreciate if everyone stopped posting the websites posting negative stuff on my wall...b/c it doesnt MATTER what they think...what matters is what the WWE and VKM think. Period." Bob's Opinion: truth be told, I wish they would have aired the whole HOF ceremony

Ric Flair Vs. Highspots Lawsuit Back On

The trial for Highspots.com's lawsuit against Ric Flair is back on. The trial is set to begin in April 18th. Highspots had issued a statement that they had settled with Flair, but Flair didn't adhere to the agreement so the case is going to court. It is over $35,000 that Flair allegedly owes Highspots and the original National Wrestling Alliance World Heavyweight championship belt, which Highspots claimed they were given as collateral for the loan. The two sides will begin depositions shortly Bob's Opinion: Now I am a big Flair fan, but does it make sense to get married over and over again and pay out all of that alimony? c'mon Ric, get with it!

Former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Diamond Dallas Page turns 55 years old today while WWE Hall of Famer Sika turns 66. Happy b-day to both! It should also be noted that Lex Luger, Diamond Dallas Page and Nikita Koloff were at this past Saturday's WWE Hall of Fame event.

Bob's Opinion: I would have put interviews up of these gentlemen on WWE.com had I been in charge.

JR's RAW Surprise

Jim Ross said on his Twitter that he found out last night at 6PM that he was doing the opening RAW bit and added that it was "likely a 1 time deal."

The Undertaker was mentioned on ESPN's Around the Horn yesterday as Bomani Jones, when talking about Shaquille O'Neal's injury problems, said the Undertaker has wrestled 19 WrestleManias, is about the same size and age as Shaq, takes bodyslams, and still stays out there. Bob's Opinion: like I have always said, pro wrestlers are the greates athletes in the world

The Rock will be on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno tonight.

Bob's Opinion: I'll be watching just to see how much of the WWE and Cena will be mentioned. Is he really back?

WWE Clarifies WrestleMania Attendance Record Statement

WWE posted the following tonight on their Facebook page, confirming that WrestleMania 27 broke the entertainment event record for the Georgia Dome:

"Confirmed by our friends at The Georgia Dome, WWE WrestleMania XXVII did in fact set the entertainment event record, with 71,617 fans. The previous record holder, the Backstreet Boys, hosted 65,658 fans on Feb. 19, 2000. The number quoted by Billboard.com in a 2009 article was for a two-day event in Atlanta, not a single performance."

Bob's Opinion: Whatever you say Vince
