Steve Austin Says Del Rio Is Not Ready To Be Champion & Puts Over Cena

During an interview with Patrick Lennon of the UK's Daily Star, WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin took a few shots at Alberto Del Rio - saying he's not ready to be WWE champion just yet.

"Well I don’t think Del Rio is ready to carry that belt. It’s ok for a short period of time, give him his first mini title run and try to groom him. He’s still got another year or two to go before he learns the US system.

"He’s a good looking kid and I know he’s been around Mexico and MMA."

Despite the fact that many WWE fans are sick of John Cena as the face of WWE, Steve Austin says Cena is the most polished performer in WWE and right man for the job.

“When I look at that company right now, John Cena is the guy who anchors it all. Some people get mad because they feel like WWE shove it down your throat, but he’s the main guy! Whether you love to hate him or you love to love him - you gotta respect him.

“I have a lot of respect for John - he’s been carrying the company for several years and he comes into work every day with a smile on his face and does all the promotional work and never complains."

Austin put over John Cena's track record of great matches and says he's probably got several more years in him on top:

“I tell you John Cena has had some great matches with some great guys - sometimes his body of work gets overlooked, the guy has proven himself over and over again. I call a spade a spade and John has done a tremendous job and he’s got a few years left yet. He’ll keep riding that lightening bolt."

Bob's Opinion: I couldn't agree more

Giving Support

I was sitting, the other night, watching TNA’s IMPACT on television when some of the women wrestlers came to the ring for their turn of television time. Now I have watched some of these girls wrestle for a few years and it seemed that their bodies had changed a little bit.

It’s the new thing for women wrestlers to have breast surgeries in order to make their breasts bigger and I must say that the Breast Augmentation Miami has to offer sure is making the sport of wrestling a lot more fun to watch. Even my wife commented on how she thought that these women were exceptionally put together.

So we have done some research online, because my wife is considering this as well and before she decides I wanted to check it out for myself and see just how safe it really is. If you or a loved one, is planning this surgery I suggest that you might follow the link that I have provided and your questions will be answered too.

I personally love my wife the way that she is, but if this is what it takes for her to feel better about herself, then I will support her as best as I can!

TNA Title Holder's Contract Expiring Soon

TNA World Tag Team Champion Hernandez's current contract will expire soon, reports ProWrestling.net.

TNA employees aren't asking whether Hernandez will re-sign as much as they are questioning whether management will or should make him a contract offer. Company officials are no longer high on him as he has shown little improvement since returning from his Mexican excursion in February.

Bob's Opinion: More as I get it

More on Matt Hardy's Troubles

The Pilot newspaper in North Carolina reports that Matt Hardy was released from jail after his September 14th arrest with a note of "promise to appear" because NC magistrate Charlie Smoak ordered that Hardy would only be released from custody if he underwent treatment for substance abuse, or entered rehab, which he did.

Hardy would have been placed in jail under a $1 million bond had he not went to rehab.

Bob's Opinion: So rehab probably wont help him if he's only going in order to saty out of jail

Stacy Keibler Poses Nude, George Clooney Denies Love Triangle Claims

Hollywood actor George Clooney is said to be furious about a report in the tabloid magazine US Weekly that claims his ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis recently sent him angry text messages and was unhappy with Clooney's relationship with Stacy Keibler.

Clooney, who is always very private about her personal life and romantic relationships, has demanded reporters correct their story and commented on the story to TMZ.com. Clooney told TMZ:

“(The report) was completely fabricated in order to sell magazines. I never comment on my personal life unless it affects others… and this lie affects others."

“Since I would be the only actual witness, I ask you to correct your story immediately, but that would assume you cared at all about telling the truth.”

-- George Clooney took girlfriend Stacy Keibler to the red carpet premiere of his new film, "Ides of March," on Tuesday night in Los Angeles. The two were not photographed together.

-- Stacy Keibler recently posed nude for a new book titled Culo, co-edited by Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs and Interscope record executive Jimmy Iovine. Regarding the revealing photo shoot, Keibler recently wrote on her Facebook page:

"So excited for the release of CULO!"

"[Photographer] Raphael Mazzucco Rocks!"

The book hits stores in late November.

Bob's Opinion: Your so excited that little boys will be "j**king off" to your picture? I've lost alot of respect for Miss Keibler

Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler's Status For Sunday

Jim Ross was asked on twitter whether he and Jerry "The King" Lawler will be calling the action this Sunday at WWE's Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. Regarding Jerry Lawler's status, Ross wrote:

"I think so."

When asked whether he'll be doing commentary, he responded:

"Not at this time but things can change."

In his latest blog at JRsBarBQ.com, Ross wrote the following about the same subject:

"So many have asked about Jerry Lawler's physical condition. King will likely return to the announce table on Sunday at Hell in a Cell. I plan on seeing him on Monday in Lafayette for Raw if things go as they are currently planned. Or I might just show up in New Orleans."

Bob's Opinion: When is Vince gonna wise up and realize that JR is the best wrestling commentator working today and in my top 3 of all time

WWE Superstar Arrested for DUI Early This Morning

TAMPA - WWE wrestler Jimmy Uso was arrested for driving under the influence early Thursday, Tampa Police said.

Uso, whose real name is Jonathan Fatu, was pulled over at the corner of Howard Avenue and Platt Street. He was arrested at 3:14 a.m.

Tampa Police say an officer "observed the defendant traveling the wrong way on Howard Avenue in a silver Mustang."

According to the arrest report, Fatu's blood alcohol level (BAC) was .180. That's more than twice the level (.08), at which a driver is assumed impaired, under state law.

Bob's Opinion: He is far enough down on the food chain that the WWE might just drop him for this

Backstage News from Monday's RAW

Word is that "who lowered the cage" was supposed to be a big mystery at the end of Monday's RAW when the Cell was lowered over CM Punk, Alberto Del Rio, John Cena and Ricardo Rodriguez. It's said that many of the angles on Monday's RAW were done to build up the Vengeance pay-per-view rather than Hell in a Cell.

Bob's Opinion: well there are so many PPV's these days that this would be the only way to build up the story lines

Vince's Mood at This Week's RAW

People were on edge backstage at Monday's RAW because of how Vince McMahon flipped out the week before. Happy to report that this week was a "Happy Vince" week.

Steve Austin Discusses Tough Enough 2, Sting vs. Hogan, Cena vs. Rock & More

WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin has a new interview up with The Sun. Here are some highlights:

Another match with CM Punk:
"I think Punk is a great guy. I'd say he looks up to me for what I did in the ring back in the day — and I look up to him for what he is doing now. I'd say it's a case of mutual respect. I hear the stories and if the stars aligned and all things worked out to benefit us all — the WWE, myself and Punk — I'd say that he is the guy I'd pick to face. I'm sure I could get another match out of this carcass of mine."

Working WrestleMania 27 and a second season of Tough Enough:
"Mania was a lot of fun. If you can't be one of the guys in the ring competing, why not be the guy who is pulling the strings in there instead? I enjoyed the experience and it's always fun to be in a WWE ring. I really get the fans and they still appreciate what I've done and continue to do. WWE has changed, it was a lot edgier in my day, but things do move on and that was my time I guess."

"It's fun being closer to wrestling again. I loved Tough Enough and hear there may be a second series. If a few other things get ironed out in the company first, I'd say it's a good 95 per cent guaranteed. My Involvement was a lot more hands on than I expected and I enjoyed that. Wrestling is part of my system. I don't miss the bumps, the travel grind or the pain, but I do enjoy it when I get back and feel the rush of being in front of a crowd."

Thoughts on Sting vs. Hulk Hogan & John Cena vs. The Rock:
"A year-long build is something no one has ever done so Cena v Rock will be very interesting. Rock is doing his thing in Hollywood so can't make every taping, plus you can't overdo these things. WWE are doing their part and keeping it moving along, but there is still a long time until the pay-off."

"I'll be honest, I hadn't heard about Hogan v Sting. That will be interesting too, I mean Hogan had back surgery didn't he? They are both great guys. I'm a fan of Sting's and he can still go with the best of them. I know Hogan well and he still has it when he needs it. It will be a very interesting night at the office that one and I will most certainly be watching Bound For Glory to see how it works out."

"I get annoyed when people say that such and such should retire, or they shouldn't compete due to injury or age. I know how it works and many of these guys find it hard to stay out of the ring. Hogan, for example, was put on this world to be there. There may often be money involved when guys step back in the ring, but it's more about their need to be there than the financial rewards. The other thing is that there are so few people coming up through the ranks who can match the success of guys like Hulk, Flair, Sting or myself. Cena may be the only one who has reached that level — I've yet to see another hit that peak yet."

Bob's Opinion: This is not the opinion that I would have expected from Austin, I'm pleasantly surprised

John Cena Teases Cage Match For Raw

John Cena appeared in studio on The Johnny Dare Morning Show today to promote tonight's Raw SuperShow at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

Cena teased during the interview that a cage would hang above the ring at the venue. He also discussed films, cars and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Cena stated that he does not want to turn bad because seeing the Make-A-Wish kids with his merchandise makes his day.

Meanwhile, the female sidekick auditioning for the morning show said she was former WWE announcer Jonathan Coachman's roommate in college. She also claimed to have one night stands with former WWE talent John "Bradshaw" Layfield and Al Snow.

Bob's Opinion: Cool

Chris Jericho Accuses WWE Stars Of Stealing His Moves & Ideas

Former WWE star Chris Jericho was recently interviewed by Duane Doogan of the Wrestling Voice radio show. Jericho had some controversial comments regarding WWE talent stealing his moves & ideas and also responds to Vampiro recently calling him a liar. Here are some highlights of what Chris Jericho said about:

Wrestlers stealing his moves and gimmicks in WWE today and lashing out at CM Punk for doing so: "There seems to be a lack of respect for the forefathers who came in and did it first and it's not just [CM] Punk, it's a whole litany of guys from Miz to Cody Rhodes to Mason Ryan to Sin Cara to Kelly Kelly, everybody is stealing moves, looks, ideas. Brian Pillman once told me if you want to make it in wrestling you have to do something that nobody has done before and nobody is doing that and they are coming off as second rate copies of Chris Jericho, and that's maybe why these guys aren't striking and I watch it and think, 'Seriously, again?'

"A couple of years ago you had 'Miz 4, John Cena 0', where did that come from? Conspiracy Theory, where did that come from? Best in the World, where did that come from? Wearing suits, talking slow, using big words, using certain moves, you know Miz used the word "troglodyte" a few weeks ago and I'm like seriously? If there ever was a word associated with Chris Jericho that would be it. These guys have to start thinking of their own stuff and some times I see some of them and I'm like oh come on. It's not like it's influenced. At least give credit where credit is due."

Vampiro calling him out and labeling him a liar in a recent video: "It's funny because I just recently complimented him on the documentary they put out about him, but Vampiro joins the long list of guys like Superstar Billy Graham, Larry Zbyszko, and Scott Hall who don't like it when they are called out for being dicks at certain point in time, and everything I've written in each one of my books is true."

Bob's Opinion: Sounds like sour grapes to me

Backstage Talk on Edge

Before the recent Edge Appreciation Night on SmackDown, there was talk within WWE that Edge didn't want to participate in any angles at this time and was hesitant about the big night in Toronto.

Bob's Opinion: Smart man

WWE SummerSlam Buyrate Down

According to updated numbers from WWE, the preliminary buyrate for WWE's 2011 SummerSlam pay-per-view is only 301,000 buys, down from the 350,000 buys in 2010 and 369,000 buys in 2009. The preliminary number has 174,000 buys from North America and 127,000 internationally.

Bob's Opinion: Not good really

Bob's Opinion: CM Punk vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. WWE Champion John Cena is being advertised locally.

Rocky Johnson Discusses The Rock vs. John Cena, His Son in the HOF and More

WWE Hall of Famer Rocky Johnson recently spoke with The Miami Herald about his son The Rock. Here are some highlights:

The Rock working with WWE again:
"He went out a champion, [and] it’s in his blood. It was in his grandfather’s blood. It’s in my blood. He is never going to get rid of it. Once you get into this business it stays with you through your whole life — whether it’s wrestling or being a manager or an agent. I’ve been in it for more than 30 years. It’s what he wants. I wouldn’t want him to do it on a full-time basis though. I told him, ‘You go back once or twice a year, or once every couple of years, because it’s in your system.’"

The Rock inducting him into the 2008 Hall of Fame:
"That meant more than anything in all the years that I put into professional wrestling. It was the culmination of everything. Now I look forward to inducting him one day into the Hall of Fame."

The Rock possibly going into the Hall of Fame next year:
"I’m not going to be the judge of that. Eventually he will be… I think he needs to be inducted in, but I don’t make that decision. We all live in Florida so I think it would be the perfect place. Though, again, I don’t make that decision."

The WrestleMania 28 match against John Cena:
"With John Cena and The Rock, I think is strictly business. There is nothing personal. John Cena is a fantastic wrestler who has proven himself and has been world champion. I think it will probably be the greatest match in history. It will be two great athletes going against each other. I am always going to say Rock will come out,” Johnson said. “He is my son. I’m not going to bet against him."

Bob's Opinion: C,mon Rocky, the boys are good, but the greatest match in history? Not hardly

WWE Draws Sellout Crowd Without Cena

Saturday's Raw live event at the El Paso County Coliseum in El Paso, Texas drew a sellout crowd. Furthermore, John Cena was not advertised for the event.

Bob's Opinion: They believed they need Cena for a sellout? if they think this then they dont have much faith on the rest of the roster

Update On Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes

Though Randy Orton is presently involved in a program with Mark Henry, there is talk of building up another match against Cody Rhodes due to the amount of attention their match on Friday's SmackDown garnered.

Bob's Opinion: But if you dont show the blood and such, what good would another match do?

Bob's Pick of the Day: Alicia Fox

Updates on Gail Kim

Gail Kim was mentioned in a press release issued last week for celebrity chef Robert Irvine, who she is engaged to. It was noted that Gail helped him find a new plastic surgeon in Florida to help him fix a problem with his eyelids that were interfering with his work and daily activities. The release referred to Gail as a professional wrestler and said the couple was busy making plans for their wedding in Napa Valley, California this spring.

Bob's Opinion: Gail is still listed as a Diva on WWE's RAW roster page.

RAW Breakdown: Eight-Man Match & Sin Caras Lose Viewers, Hugh Jackman, More

As noted before, the September 20th episode of WWE's RAW Supershow did a 3.01 cable rating with 4.32 million viewers against lots of competition like Monday Night Football, Two and a Half Men and more.

The opening segment with CM Punk, Triple H and John Laurinaitis opened to a 3.46 rating but the eight-man match with Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne, Sheamus and Justin Gabriel taking on Christian, Wade Barrett, David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty lost 1,046,000 viewers. With 23% of the viewers tuning out during this match, this was the biggest segment decrease in a long time.

John Morrison vs. Alberto Del Rio and the segment with Hugh Jackman, Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero gained 524,000 viewers while the impromptu match with Sin Cara vs. Sin Cara lost 187,000 viewers. The segment with Mark Henry, Jerry Lawler and Mark Henry gained 262,000 viewers back, which is below average for that time slot.

Eve Torres and Kelly Kelly vs. Beth Phoenix and Natalya with Dolph Ziggler vs. Zack Ryder, and the appearance by Hugh Jackman, lost 239,000 viewers. Jack Swagger's promo video and segment with Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero, plus the backstage segment with CM Punk and John Cena lost 357,000 viewers.

The main event of Cena and Punk vs. The Miz and R-Truth gained 172,000 viewers for a 2.86 rating, which is way below average for a RAW main event. The overrun this week with Triple H firing The Miz and R-Truth gained 670,000 viewers to a 3.32 rating.

Bob's Opinion: Was an excellent RAW (you won't hear me say that often)

Writing A Book

I have been thing about writing a book as of late but my mind always drifts back to the fact that not many writers get published these days. This book of course would be on the subject of professional wrestling and even though the wrestling related books are selling great these days, it will still be very hard to get published.

So what is the answer to my dilemma? Well I have done a lot of research on the matter and I have decided to look into self publishing. I honestly believe that I have a lot to say about this matter and I can’t put it all into a blog (although I do try). So I would really like to have comments from you, my friends, that have read the things that I have posted here. I would love to know if you believe that I should take that step and write a book on this subject of professional wrestling, something a lot of us love.

Ok, I am back to doing more research on the self publishing aspect, so far I am really liking the things that they are telling me!

Booker T Possibly Returning To The Ring

WWE has had discussions of Booker T coming back to wrestle in a short program on SmackDown against an undisclosed opponent.

Booker T has competed in one match since assuming the SmackDown color commentator position in February. On the June 6 episode of Raw, Booker wrestled his first singles match for the organization in four years, gaining a victory over Jack Swagger via count out.

Bob's Opinion: Yes, please get back into the ring, you suck as a commentator
